Ebay-Sniped by a second

Dang! I bow down to the queen of ebay sniping! I was trying to win pizza hut book it coupons to toss in my kids stockings. I bid, 7 seconds to go and I was high bidder. Then, not even a second left and the person I outbid sniped the auction!

Anyone else here have this happen to them? That was a good snipe. Too bad I didn't win the auction but, it was an interesting end.
 
This is just another of many reasons we stopped using Ebay. I prefer to buy stuff off of the seller's on Amazon.com. No bidding; and, more times than not, you can get new merchandise cheaper than it's being sold by retailers.
 
I love amazon but, they don't take paypal and thats why I am playing around on ebay and sweep sellers list with what I have left in my paypal account. There are some good deals on ebay but, they aren't like they use to be.
 
Not to mention, Ebay has been having more and more accounts hacked from within the site; and scam buyers and sellers are trying to pull fast ones on there.

I hate!!!! to get down to the last second and lose a auction, but you know, I have lived through it so far. I was on there for hours last night looking at Amazing Grace perfume and finally ended up using Buy it now. I got a good deal ~ used Paypal, dealer had good feedback with a lot of feedback, so I felt comfortable doing business with them!

I would miss ebay really bad!!

Oh Ping, don't you just love all the stuff by Philosophy. I want to win a contest from them because the stuff is just great. It's also very much out of my budget :crazytongue:

I have great feedback on ebay (purple star and 100% rating, knock on wood) but, it's getting harder to do any type of buying/selling on there. I find good deals once in awhile, I like buying my DVD's from there.
 
It is out of my price range also ~ that is why I am buying it on eBay ~ lol!!! I found some at a much better price ~ down by over $10.00 for the roll-on perfume. I ended up asking my husband for some for Christmas, they had a pretty decent price for a set on QVC the other day so that is what I got!!!

Now if I could just talk him into that jukebox that I am wanting...

I do pretty good on ebay when I'm bidding for stuff. I usually buy kids clothes and kids toys. The prices over the past 5 years or so aren't that great a deal anymore as they once were. I like Amazon better anymore. For years my online compulsive shopping habits were on ebay. Now they're on Amazon. I only shop on ebay anymore when I have survey payment money in paypal.
 
I do most of my single books on Amazon ~ and will buy lots on eBay. I buy CD's on Amazon because of the prices ~ you just can't hardly beat it. As much as I like books and music I have to look for good prices.

Kids clothes I used to buy on eBay. I have done really well saving money there and at local resale shops. I am SO picky when it comes to what my kids wear, so it has to be a good deal. I'm sure that the shops hate to see me coming ~ I don't try to "bargin", because I think that if it is in condition, then it is worth the price, but I won't take just anything. I can't let my little girl dress like a little Britney Spears. No belly shirts or low cut jeans. She is going to dress like a little girl. My teenage doesn't dress like a regular teen either.

Ohhh, back to ebay. Ebay is my hell, I am on a personal mission now! I just tried to win a DVD and got my butt sniped again!! :cussing:
 
I did a snipe last night myself ~ I have been the snipee for about the last month on a razr cellphone for my daughter ~ last night I was the sniper!!! Victory is MINE!!!

I just opened two windows, had my bid ready on one, the time refreshing on the other and that is the only way I could do it. I am on dial-up so it is hard to do! It was all I could do to keep from bidding with 3 minutes left to go ~ I did wait until 5 seconds. Lesson learned from reading your post!! Thanks!

Did you look at BIN's? Sometimes they have a hidden cheapie in those. I annoys the crap out of me when i keep getting sniped that I finally end up getting something I don't want just because I'm on a mission to win something. :crazytongue:
