ET ONLINE MEDIA?

I know everyone else is getting the pop ups but today right after I clicked on each one Microsoft Security said it detected 1 problem and to clean it..which I did but today is the first day that happened..anyone else???

I just tried it out and got an message from my anti-virus program that "an add-on for this site failed to run". It doesn't mean it was something bad, just that my anti-virus blocked it as a precaution. I don't worry about about it and enter their sweepstakes anyway. :)

My two cents is that people getting pop-ups (at least most of the spam/intruding ones) from any site aren't getting them from the actual site. I believe they are just coming through some back door because the person's computer is not kept thoroughly cleaned consistently, and/or they just don't have pop-up blocker and/or anti-virus programs that are very good at blocking these things.

My two cents again , they should try out different programs until they find one that actually works at blocking these kinds of pop-ups.

Ok...what happened though is it did clean it..then I clicked on the next ET Media listed and it showed again and cleaned ..then the 3rd entry same thing...WEIRD....

Also, when you clean your computer, are you:

Deleting all cookies, history, temporary files

Run program to check for viruses

Run program to check for spyware (that's where some pop-ups are being lead in from)

Running "Disk Cleanup"

Run Defragment

:)

It's not a pop up on the sreen...it's a pop up from my Microsoft Security icon at the bottom here that says 1 virus detected..and I clean it out and it shows up again when I go to ET Media Online..I have not gotten this warning from anywhere else...yet...

I'm sure it's not from the site. Otherwise, you would see a lot of people posting about the same problem. I've had this happen to me in the past and found that certain viruses/worms/trojans come out that some anti-virus programs don't have fixes for yet or just aren't good at fixing. The anti-virus program will show that it cleaned it out, but it's still really there. This has happened to me with two types of viruses/trojans in the past. One was Vundo, and I can't remember what the other one was. There is a free download called Vundo Fix that fixed the problem for that virus for me. Another program (they have a free download also) is called Malwarebytes. These can take sometime to scan for the virus.

However, there was one occasion that I had to have a tech come in to find the virus and remove it--it was that nasty and that embedded that nothing I tried worked.
