Excessive Heat!

The heat is killing me...I swear to God. Yesterday's high temp. here was 105 degrees! It was 102 degrees, still, at 7 pm yesterday. Arkansas is under a severe heat alert until this coming Tuesday. The heat indexes are at 110 degrees daily. I get dizzy just being in this heat for short periods of time...so I stay inside all day, except for when I absolutely must go somewhere.

How's the heat where you are?

we are under a heat advisory also. Its storming right now but yesterday was awful and monday and tuesday should be worse.

From our local weather.....
Excessive Heat Warning: St. Louis Metro-Monday Noon through Tuesday....

Monday: Mostly sunny and very hot with highs around 100. Afternoon heat indices from 105 to 110.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy with afternoon storms possible. Highs in the mid to upper 90s with heat indices above 105.

Oh man sticks, I'm right there with ya! My air conditioner runs 24/7 at full blast, and it's still warm in the house at times. Trying to cool a two story house in the Georgia heat is next to impossible. Not quit as hot as where you are, but in the high 90's here.

I can't go outside either. My roommate said yesterday reminded him of Arizona...only humid. There is this brief moment at about 4:30 am when the wind shifts and comes off the ocean and its almost bearable-then the sun comes up-Did you see Chronicles of Riddick? That is what sunrise reminds me of....please be careful!

Jimmie had a heatstoke at work four summers ago ~ he almost died before they got him stable. He was in kidney failure when they got him at the hospital! He was in the hospital for a week while he recovered. We were having the hottest summer that we had had in a while, and they had a bunch of men quit, well considering the heat, they were forcing quite a few men also. Jimmie had already gotten dehydrated on his shift and knew that he didn't need to be there, but he got forced. When I talked to him on the phone he sounded SO weak ~ I had my clothes on and was waiting for the call ~ I knew it was coming. I had already called Mom and Dad and they were ready to watch the girls. He had the guy that was driving him to the ER call me, they didn't even wait for an ambulance to come and get him...they of course blamed it on him!!

Today seems a little better than it has been being ~ right now it is 85 degrees with a heat index of 86.

Tomorrow High of 95

Tuesday High of 97

So it could be worse!!

It was about 105- 110 with the heat index for the last couple days. So miserable and my kids haven't played outside in a few days because, of the heat. I am in MS so pretty close to you.

My power just went out and I hope it comes back on soon. :cussing:
