Facebook vs regular entry sweeps

I know it's my choice not to join Facebook and I know the sponsor can have entry requirements any way they want - I just wish the sweeps had a choice to enter either way.

Thee are some nice sweeps available but I'm not comfortable with Facebook so choose not to enter.

Not complaining - just commenting.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

i am verrryyy slowly trying out the facebook contests....up to 4 now....i chose very reputable companies, so far no problems, and 1 win

I've been entering for 3 months now on Facebook and got lots of posting on my wall even though I opted out. However, I did won an Ipad 2, Outback Girl Friends Night Out, Xbox/Kinect package, and Visa GC. I always choose reputable company as well.

i decided to close out my facebook account and therefore don't enter anymore of their contest.
I don't like having to download applications for every single thing . Plus i had a problem with something else.
not complaining, just saying.

i did win one contest on facebook , it was for a dvd.

YUP!

It's becoming an advertising medium for business. They get your endorsement on their page and a "like" on your page.

Facebook's security and privacy policy have been rightfully criticized in the past. I suspect they'll be hacked in the future and personal info will be published on-line just as Sony was hacked by LulzSec.

Sometimes, the risk you take or the price you have to pay isn't worth the potential reward.

I suspect that we're in the minority and that Facebook sweeps will continue to proliferate.

I'm sure FB Sweeps will continue. I enter them all since I have won about 20 FB sweeps since I started entering them in January including an all expense paid trip for two to San Jose, California. It sure was enjoyable!

I've ventured over to entering Facebook Sweeps/IWG but I do not use my regular Facebook account. I have a Facebook account that I only use for sweeps and it has limited information on it. I'm just not comfortable allowing apps to access the information on my regular account.

Remember once you allow an app access to your information it always has access unless you delete it. If you want to remove apps from your Facebook account please see the link below....

I agree entirely!! I just posted a comment asking how to enter contests on Facebook and still remain relatively anonymous. That's probably impossible!

Big Capital YES, I feel the same. I actually was a member of facebook for a short time and although your not supposed to get spam from it, I got bombarded! Coincidence, I think not. I tried to go in and remove my name off of facebook which is nearly impossible. I know others who had things happen also. I don't have time to waste on facebook. It seems that most all of the sweeps are going facebook. Do they get something out of being on it?

i have won some fb sweeps and really like them.....but then again i enjoy facebook. but why not have a fb page just for your sweeps ........i only use twitter for sweeps and most of us have a seperate email only for sweeping ( you can make your page private and dont have to use a pic or just use a senery pic or the like )

I choose not to have facebook & notice more & more sweeps are with facebook. I am disappointed, though, that there aren't alternate ways of entering.

FYI Facebook's policy is that you can only have one account. I had a separate account for sweepstakes and they shut it down because it violated their terms of use. They could tell becasue occasionally I'd click on a facebook email and i'd be logged into the other account. They then started asking me questions when I was logging in and all of a sudden I was locked out of the sweepstakes account.

I have an fb account that is just for sweepstakes only...It does not have any of my personal information on it, and I don't even use my real name. I also have no friends on the account.

Technically it is against facebook policy to have two accounts, but the policy (for the most part) is not usually enforced.

I have done pretty good with fb sweepstakes: an ipod nano and a set of foil pans.

I just created a twitter account so that I can enter twitter only sweepstakes.

I enter facebook sweeps people on my page know I am a sweeper and tolerate it. entering since sept 2010 and not one win yet..

I too have a facebook for sweeps only. I only have three friends that are fellow sweepers for several reasons, some contests you can only enter if you invite friends, you don't get overloaded on your page for the others that are entering, and you don't overload their pages. There are many companies that have weekly or daily contests that you will receive on the newsfeed if you are following them. Also, my husband has a fb friend that is a sweeper and he is constantly getting notice of her entries, he hates it but I on the other hand will see what she is entering in case I didn't see that sweep. And yep I do keep an eye on his fb, there have been posts from other women that I found inappropriate, too friendly.
For those that have won on fb are you just entering on the sweeps listed here or are you going to promo's page. Is there another page that sponsers sweeps?
Started to Twitter but I am a bit confused on if I retweet from another tweet, do I gain a entry or do I have to go to the original tweet, usually the co. sponsering it. When there is a RT from a blog can I RT from the RT or do I need to go to the blog and RT from there. If any one knows how it works, I would appreciate the help.

Take Care
