Wow, got a call today saying I was a "potential grand prize winner" and they would be fedexing the affadavits early next week. They sent me an email after the call with the rules attached because I didn't remember the sweepstakes and it says grand prize $3,000. Does this mean I won? The word "potential" is telling me not to get my hopes up.
 
It sounds very promising...you are a potential winner until you submit paperwork and you check out. sounds like you are a big winner!
 
Yes you are the grand prize winner as long as you get the paperwork in and meet the eligibility requirement...ie legal age, us citizen, get the paperwork back in time, don't live in a state where the contest wasn't valid in (for ex. sometimes FL and NY are states that sweepstakes are void in) etc.

They use that term just as a precaution but you are the winner....congrats!
 
Awesome! Congrats!! As stated, 'potential' just means you 'are' as long as you return the paperwork in time and qualify under the rules. Spend it like you won it!
 
Congrats! As previously posted, they have to say "potential" until your affidavit is completed etc. to make sure you don't have an immediate relative that works there and you are legal age for promotion...

Sure, they always say 'potential' because they have to have that affadavit signed, sealed and delivered before they declare you the actual grand winner. I've signed a number of them. Be sure to get it back fast, they usually have a time limit and if you don't, they offer to someone else. They also have to be sure you meet the requirements for that sweepstakes.
