Tracy I know all of the talking points from the campaigns but what do you think Obama will change?. I could post links supporting my candidate but I was hoping you would give me your opinion.

I have given you my opinion on more than one occasion. I think he will change the way Washington works. I think he will look out for me and mine first and the big wigs second. I think he will make it easier for everyone to have health insurance. I think he will do whats best for everyone not just the elite like bush has done.

Why don't you tell me what you think McCain is going to do.

What exactly do you think he would change?

LOL cin,,,, 1 of the things he would change is that it's ok to give "daps" in the White House. That irritates me everytime I see him and his wife doing that to each other.... So unprofessional.... This is america not some street rally.....
[/QUOTE]

what is daps?

How is he going to do that? I have read his plan and I know what he says. I also know McCain's plan and I just wondered how you think Obama will be able to get his economic plan to pass congress or for that matter how will he do all that he promises?

McCain's plan will not just tax the rich. And we all know we will be paying more taxes considering the last couple days government buy out.

Why should the wealthy have to pay more? That hardly makes sense especially since if you try and tax the small business owners and then they have to cut jobs who do you think looses? We all do.

The economy is a mess but over taxing people who make 250k is just not right.

So how will Obama change washington?

In general, I think it is important for everyone to know where both candidates stand on various issues. For some who have said they don't know about Obama and his views because they don't care, they can't exactly say anything negative about him. It can be irritating to see people talking negatively about Obama who haven't even bothered to do their homework or know enough to have opinions one way or another.

I think we can agree that Obama is about more than "giving dap" in the white house. I've read both of his books. This man is not using his ethnicity to become president. He plans to make changes for the working men and women, reform healthcare so no one goes uninsured, and get this country back on its feet. Not continue to give the wealthy all of these extra tax cuts and turn his back on hard-working individuals doing their best to support their familes. Do I know for a fact that he will keep his word? Nope. I'd simply like to believe he will do his absolute best at doing so. His history points in the direction in which he will. McCain's history does not.

We must remember that no one is forced to give their opinion on anything. Others choose not to and that will have to be sufficient for everyone.

you didnt answer my question.. what is McCain going to do thats any different? The wealthy are not paying more than are paying less.. did you even look at the link? and we are not talking about small business owners cin but the top 1% of the country.

And I dont expect him to get everything he promises but I expect him to push for as much as he can. Do you think everything Mccain says he is going to do he will accomplish?

Others choose not to and that will have to be sufficient for everyone.

I agree. I will give my opinion and have. I think others who are doing the asking should do the same.

Maybe I'll vote for a Liberal. I love what John F. Kennedy said:

John F. Kennedy defined liberalism this way:

"If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I'm proud to say I'm a 'Liberal.

That all sounds like Obama right there LOL

Tracy it's all hipe really all talk on both sides. It just comes down to who's talk you like the most. I see McCain/Palin as being the ones to try and reform Washington. You like the other guy. We could keep going back and forth until Nov. but since we have already said who we will vote for what's the point.

Yeah, I don't know of any other way to take it either. Let's all try and stay civil despite what may be personal feelings of each other. I'm well aware of how others feel personally towards me and another member, but let's forgo the personal attacks and keep having a discussion. Instead of forcing someone to google something or trying to force someone to give an opinion when they haven't given their's let's all play nice and try to accomodate one another. Please.

You know what politics is a touchy issue and if Admin thinks this thread should be locked I have no problem with that since I started it.

Champ I did not think you were rude.

all that is true.. but it was a point twenty minutes ago when you kept asking my opinion. When I asked for yours I get... whats the point.. whatever. I will continue to post links I find interesting on both sides. like I did earlier today. If you want to look at them fine. if you dont that is fine too.

as to champ.. maybe she didnt mean it nasty.. but I took it like look it up dumb a**...

I think we're all capable of having a discussion. Just like we've all been doing. I see no reason to lock it. It allows everyone to post the latest info on each candidate instead of making multiple threads. It allows for people to gather that info and take into consideration who they think best fits what this country needs. I know I have promised to remain respectful and I know Tracey will too. Let's all just do our part in educating folks on both candidates :sunny:

Please just try to keep in mind with this discussion that Politics and Religion are always the most heated topics. If you find yourself too "over heated" just please cool off before you post again. I personally choose not to participate because I would never get any work done.

Thank You,

-Ken

I know the feeling! I'm so glad I got all of my housework done yesterday

I just want to say that I know firsthand how passionate one can get with their views on politics. I find myself being more so with this election because in my opinion it is vital and in more ways that one. We can do this, guys! We can keep it civil if we all try! :sunny:

When I first started this thread it was about Govenor Palin and I guess we all have goten into politics. I think I will go ahead and lock this one and I apologize for any offense to anyone.
