Hellman's winners errors?

I called the company and explained what was happening and the lady talked to her supervisior and said it was ok and she was glad I won even if I won 2 times. She said due to the high volume it may take up to 2 days to received my conformation via e-mail. Guess we will have to wait and see. she said to call back after a couple days if I didn't hear anything.

It will be interesting to see what they do. We will probably get a jar of mayo.

That's exactly what happened a couple years back with the Bacardi instant sweepstakes. These company contact people are just their customer service people and in no way have direct knowledge of the workings of the company's sweepstakes.
In the Barcardi situation, their customer service decided to answer inquiries with an email stating that they did indeed win. Unfortunately, that was not their position to do that.
In the end, Bacardi could not award the stated prize to the false winners; but, because their own customer service people made the mistake of confirming all the false wins as real wins which is considered documentation of same, Bacardi had no choice but to give all the false winners something of equivalent value which was more like a grab bag of whatever they could throw together.

i was one of the people in the Bacardi contest that received a winning screen when in fact, i did not win. i did however enjoy the tee shirts and other gifts they were generous to give out , they didn't have to do that.
i do hope that we are all winners in the hellmans contest. they are giving out awesome prizes. every prize is a great prize . we'll just have to wait and see.....

There's only 120 instant prizes, and the sweepstakes ends on 07/15/09. It must be a glitch.
what other message boards are talking about this? I'd like to read too please, thanks.
Yeah I'm sure it was a glitch, but it would be nice if they honored it anyway. I mean obviously we're going to be excited that we won.. otherwise what's the point of an instant win? ha an instant win is to get you excited about winning right away, so of course all of us who got the screen got excited right away. It just seems a little mean on their part to let us get excited and then go "sorry, it was a glitch, read the rules, we don't have to do anything" ha It wouldn't give people a good impression of that sponsor. it just seems like it would be worth it to honor them and keep their good name, but those are just my 2 cents. whatever happens is fine, I don't focus on the past, but move on towards the next new wins :sunny: good luck to all!

I never get myself excited over a "congratulations/win" screen. Computers mess up from time to time, and it's out of the sponsor's hands when it does happen. God knows, I wish I had an error-free computer; but knowing this, it's understandable why they have to protect themselves and add disclaimers in the rules. I've had seven false win screens on instants over the years, and that doesn't phase me.
I don't consider that I've won anything until I get the prize in my hands.
I've seen the posts elsewhere where a lot of members were winning and believe it to be a glitch also. I'm not sure if they'd want us posting those sites here; but you can run a search to find them.

I had emailed them to see if i won or not, i haven't heard anything yet. i will let everyone know if i do hear something.

It's also possible that you may not know for sure until the sweepstakes comes to an end. That's what happened with the Barcardi sweepstakes. When it ended they sent out emails to everyone who got win screen and was even told by the sponsor's customer service people that they did win, that they were not the winners.
