How many sweeps/IW do you enter daily?

Hey everybody I am curious how many sweeps and or IW do you enter daily? Last time I counted I enter 100 give or take a couple which takes about 2 or 3 hours depending how focus I am. Some times I try to enter them all at once in one sitting other times I scatter them through out the day. The reason I ask I dont win much I went months with out winning even something small as a song download. Am I not entering enough? Lets compare.

It really just boils down to consistency & luck.

I have been entering on & off since April 2014 and I just recently won my first "bigger" prize a $300 Target gift card.

Have you maximized your ways of entering? I enter sweepstakes on Twitter, Instagram, Text-to-Win, Receipt Sweepstakes, Instant Wins, etc. Create a big pool of a variety of sweepstakes with big & small prizes.

I have Amy & well written. I sweep because I enjoy it and its fun. But I am looking for practical ways of bettering my results.

I did that thread to encourage others to add their tips because this question is one new sweepers ask the most, and why you get so few answers - the info is all together in the 6+ pages throughout that thread :p

If you enter at the same time every day and haven't won in a long time, change up when you enter - or even in what order you enter.

Keep in mind that while winning is the goal, interacting with other sweepers in the forums and comments is a side benefit that will make you feel like a winner!!!

Dry spells CAN be broken, so don't give up!!! However - if you are starting to feel burned out, take a break - sweeping should be fun, not a chore!!!

I save winning pages to paint, so when I'm blue, I can revisit past wins and reaffirm that I AM a winner - you'd be suprised how such a simple thing can really lift your spirits!!!

Ways I deal with the frustration of a dry spell:

1} I get outside of my own head by helping others. Either by voting, answering questions, or just getting a little silly. :crazytongue:

2} I avoid the winners circle. It's not that I'm not happy for other members, it's just that I don't need the constant reminder that I'm not one of them - for now. :crazytongue:

3} I hard charge on sweeps, going through all the categories and getting a sense of satisfaction/accomplishment when I get all caught up.

4} I take a break from the computer, since it's gone from being fun to being a chore.

If you keep pushing yourself to enter and things don't change, you will most likely burn out and quit, whereas if you make a decision to take a break for a day or 2, you are still in control.

I *usually* find I return after my mini "vacation" that I'm refreshed and can see things more clearly, so the little things don't get to me, and I enjoy instead of dreading entering my sweeps. :sunny:

It may sound kinda nuts, but I keep 2 important things in mind while sweeping:

1} I CAN win, I believe I WILL win, and I'll do my part by entering to win!!!

2} Wanting to win doesn't mean I will for sure win - it just means someone will for sure win what I'm entering for, and it *could* be me!!!

They may sound like they can't both be true, but I know from experience they are - lots of times other people won the prizes I *really* wanted to win, but then I'd win another prize I wanted just as much!

If you approach this as a fun hobby and as long as you keep it light, enjoying the various aspects of entering and discovering new products and services, you'll stick with it!

Hi Thad!

You know, since I started this hobby in mid-May of this year, I have never actually counted how many I enter a day. I would guess my average is somewhere between 50-100. On weekdays (a few in the morning, most after work in the evening), almost without fail, I probably enter about 40-50, mostly off a list from one of my favorite freebie sites. About half of those are IW's. On weekends, I usually branch out and enter stuff like blogger sweeps or the little one-time entries offered by e-book authors (for Amazon gift cards, etc). Or I spend more time on sites like Poshly (you have to take little quizzes for each entry), or ABC Soaps in Depth (considered a "creative presentation" since these are actually offered via many portals) where you have to watch little videos before each entry (I am still not sure those are worth the time/effort though, so I try not to spend too much time there).

I also noodle around on sites like Candystand, Dial Rewards, and DailyBreak to earn and spend points on sweeps, raffles and IW's, but I usually don't spend more than about 10 minutes or so total on these. Haven't won anything from these yet, but I really only started incorporating them into my daily routine a month or so ago.

Now, a lot of the sweeps I entered are still going on, or just wrapped up recently, so it's possible I could've won something "big," but don't know it yet! I also didn't realize it when I first started, but many IW's allow you to win multiple prizes (some limit it to a certain number, or once per week or entry period, etc). There were a few I thought I had hit my limit on with my first win, but actually hadn't. It was only when I saw other folks winning multiple prizes that I went back and re-read the rules with a fine tooth comb! You'll notice the wording in the official rules can be very tricky ("per household" vs. "per email address" vs. "per week" or "per day" -- and you might be looking at the ENTRY limits vs. the PRIZE limits -- and/or the limits on various prizes can be different in one sweeps, i.e. "grand prizes" vs. "game prizes"!)

Another tip is that I avoid entering anything I'm not interested in or doesn't apply to me (even if I'm technically eligible). I'm not a parent, so I avoid anything kid-related. Some things I entered early on that I realized had so few things that appealed to me, I dropped out. On the other hand, some sweeps that I thought would be too time-consuming turned out to be easier than I thought (or I enter them when I have more free time), or had a way to skip what seemed like a required step (i.e. Nathan's Famous Selfie sweeps -- you can enter the IW without submitting a photo). I also learned, through these boards, you can almost always skip having to play any of the games and get right to the entry screen (though some are trickier than others to locate -- i.e. with the Nabisco Race game IW, I figured out you have to hit "Let's Race," pick a car, and only THEN you'll see a link that says "Skip the Race.")

As other long-time sweepers have said, patience and persistence pays off! I have a little notebook that has all my daily to-dos in it, and every morning I start a new list with everything I want to get done. About half of my list is devoted to keeping me on track with my entries! When I start feeling burnt out or discouraged, I jump on the SA forums, or read contest blogs, or just watch something on Netflix! I also rack up points on sites like Swagbucks to earn gift cards, so even if I don't win, I've still got goodies coming in! It will be interesting now that I'm unemployed (officially as of Tuesday). I'm hoping I can expand my hobby in between my job search. Wish me luck!

I'd love to hear more about your daily strategy, Thad! Hang in there!!

Hi all, my first post since joining SA just recently. I started doing sweeps casually early 2014 after a long long absence. I am old guy (wink) and can remember buying envelopes and stamps in rolls of 100 back in late 70's, even subscribed to that paper newsletter for awhile, think it was called Contest Newsletter. Now I am up to over a 100 day, lots and lots of daily entries, big ticket items but also do some of the smaller ones.

2014 was a great year for me, think I got a little spoiled actually, winning a 60" inch flat screen TV and a trip to Vegas which included rodeo tickets, concert tickets but no airfare but okay with that as I am only 7 hour drive away. I also won the following:
$50 gc Hash House - Las Vegas
$200 gc Tix4tonight - Las Vegas
$100 gc Esurance
Serving Tray
and my favorite, $1 coupon for Charmin (can you believe they mail that too you)

I hope this doesn't sound like bragging, just trying to say, I think it really boils down to just be lucky. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not.

So far in 2015, no major winners YET, I did win
$25 gc Liquid Plummers
2 $200 LiveNation concert GC
bunch of small stuff (anyone want a Coors flip flop bottle opener? lol)

Hang in there and hope you win lots.

I enter about the same amount as you do. But, I really like to browse the Internet and also do rewards survey sites too while I am online, SO 2 hours of planned sweeping could turn into all day which even though time is important to me I have more time that most people my age I guess. Since I browse the Internet so much my house really needs cleaning I suppose LOL-that could be a funny joke I guess.

Anyway, I am determined to finish this month really strong though! I know last month I had bookmarked quite a few sweepstakes. In the end, I never entered them, absolutely none of the bookmarked ones...I looked at it as a learning experience and said to myself that I wouldn't not enter them again. I also like naps so that eliminates quite a lot of sweeping time. Every time I don't spend my usual time sweeping I feel pretty disappointed some time afterwards or when I don't win because I didn't try to enter them whatsoever. I have even quit sweeping for a day or so or a week..... then it takes double or triple the time to regroup.

I know everyone- - well, some may not I don't know, need breaks. There is alot of competition in sweeping as in more people entering than prizes,-I think in my opinion- learned from reading A LOT of posts on the Internet so I think every time I miss a day or two of daily entries then I have lost, but like your post says going months without "winning", well, that is something I experience too.

Here lately to motivate myself I started a free photo album online, to keep track of wins...Today, I won a song download so I put that in the album. The little wins keep me going too, lol. GOOD LUCK!:D
P.s. This doesn't answer your ?, but I enter as much for myself as others I always give away my prizes to my family if I can't use them, and they appreciate it very much of course. I've given them a tablet and a grill I had won, that's two things that comes to my mind. And, as far as entering every sweepstakes I see so I could possibly win more, I don't do that..yet.. I might one day, but I always say that. But, it Probably won't be this month though as I never keep up good enough and I enter last minute alot of the time. Like it is the 27th-Guess I'd better get started, right?

One mistake though I think I make is to say well, do I think I could "win" this sweepstakes...FUNNY how I could ever know is beyond me :p  Then if the answer is yes I will enter it. I think alot of people make that mistake because any entry could be the winner! I know long before I started sweeping as a hobby I would be like HOW would I ever win something? I always thought of sweepstakes as some humongous thing like a car sweeps...just depends on what you enter for the prize I guess I learned that, more wins=smaller sweepstakes (sometimes!)

Does anyone else ever say to themselves like I do, ...I will enter this IF I think I could win, and only then will I try???
