So I ratted out a cheater today and it felt good. Someone was entering a blog giveaway for an Ipad with multiple names so I emailed the blogger. They checked and sure enough the person was cheating. They picked another deserving winner. Even though I still didnt win I felt like I was fighting crime. JUSTICE!

Good for you! It's a shame that some greedy, self-centered individuals have to make this hobby a quest for attention and monetary gain at the expense of others who go by the rules.

I'm lost kelseaeaton - how could you see it when the blogger couldn't? Or did she/he just not check? Was the cheater drawn as the winner and then you "ratted"? I'd watch my back - some sweepers can be *very* vindictive! :nono:

I've avoided BLOGS because I like known parameters and rules, and I trust the sponsor/JA to do their due diligence. Unless things have changed, BLOGS are the Wild West. :crazytongue:

well there is a place you can click on the rafflecopter called "recent activity" and you can see some of the entries. I like to look at it to see how close I was to winning if the number drawn was close to the amount of entrants. When I looked I noticed a lot of the entries were similar. So I just messaged the blogger about checking. Bloggers dont always check IP addresses to see if someone just made up a name. They usually only check stuff like FB likes and Twitter follows and what not. There was a blog post "rant" I read recently talking about how much this happens and they were trying to spread the word about checking IP addresses. So I was already aware that this happens.

And yes they were shown as the winner on the page already so im sure they were pretty pissed. But hey the person shouldnt have cheated.

Aha, I see

I wasn't down on you, it's BLOGS I take issue with - and this thread illustrates why!
