I'm using the money to fund some safe, controlled shark and marine encounters for locals in the San Diego area. This will involve kayak/snorkel tours with harmless leopard sharks, encounters with dolphins/beluga whales, and even cage dives with blue sharks off the coast.
I lost my mom to cancer in 2007 and recently started the Heart of Travel Foundation. I'm not here to advertise but we are going to do some great things in the coming years. This is just a start. SA voters also helped me get my idea published in the September 2009 issue of Conde Nast Traveler magazine so thanks again for that!
