Incorrect Listings

First off, I am grateful that sites like this exist as it makes sweeping so much easier and more enjoyable. However, with that being said, I find errors almost everyday regarding rules and the number of entries allowed. Sometimes, the contest or sweepstakes is listed under the right category, but has the wrong information, but most of the time it is listed under the wrong category with incorrect information. For example, listing a contest under Single Entry when it allows for Daily entry. Granted, every entrant should always take the time to completely read the rules, but with entering so many contests, I often just skim them quickly. If it happened every once in awhile, I wouldn't mention it, but it seems to happen all the time which makes me wonder how the data is collected and posted. The bottom line is, read the rules for yourself. There might be contests listed as Daily Entry when they only allow Single Entry and more than one entry disqualifies you and wastes your time.

yaoughta,

SA editors list sweeps according to official rules. If rules say "one entry" but entry form or confirmation says something like "return again tomorrow" it is still listed as one entry.

Some sweeps are listed directly by sponsors and that may be one reason for mistakes you noted.

So please Report Problem for incorrect information, such as things you mentioned - number of entries allowed, wrong category. Excellent advice, as you said, everyone should read the rules.

If an SA editor missed something in the rules, please use Report Problem under the sweeps listing to bring this to their attention so it can be fixed.

I'm constantly using "report problem" to report these types of problems. I don't look at most sweeps as I'm not interested in the prize, so the reports I send in aren't indicative of the size of the problem. I didn't report any today, so just now, I "went looking", and found the one shown below.

Example:

Correct listing should be:

" Limit one entry per household."

The correct entry restriction is found on the entry page. I can't find it anywhere in the rules.

Many (but not all) of these sweeps are posted by Sponsors who don't use a Promoter, as there's no Promoter disclosed in the rules.. I assume they're trying to save a few dollars by acting as their own Promoter. The problem is they're not conversant with the various State and Federal sweepstake laws. In some cases the disclosures aren't correctly listed, or are listed in the wrong place.

We also don't consider "Bonus Entries" or "Referral" Daily Entry.

Just sent a reminder to the editors. They'll do their best.

yaoughta - As noted by arrtup3, editors *must* list by the rules limit, and if it's a 1x with possible bonus entries, it may or not tell you in the listing.

sweepsadv notes - Upon entering a promo, you'll usually find out f there are possible bonus entries & you can then submit a REPORT PROBLEM to have that info added to the listing, but unless it's noted as daily entry in the rules, it would be for info/notes only, but, PLUS members can decide where they want to save the listing.
