Moses Smith's 2007 Crash

 Thank God for the safety features! I got scared just from watching it from his point of view.

Unfortunately, I've seen worse through the years. The funny thing is that you can have an accident that doesn't look like much, but the driver gets killed. I've seen them twirling through the air and bouncing off the ground over and over, and the driver walks away.

We have a NASCAR-sanctioned track down the road from us that is only 1/4 mile. That gets really interesting!

I was scoring when it happened and NASCAR could not release me - he stopped just out of my view. I was pretty worried for awhile. However, my younger son Zack figured I would be worried and ran to where I was at with the report that Moses was okay. What a sweetie!

It seems everytime we're at a race, I never see the accidents on the track. I'm either eating or busy with the children. Then I look out and see smoke and all the cars slowed down.

They mainly run modifieds out here on this track, and they have some really interesting and entertaining events after the race.

My husband's boss just passed away and owned his own car. Hopefully, one of his boys will take it over. His driver is really good. A few years back, one of the other drivers, Tom Baldwin, got killed in a race up in Stafford Springs, CT. It's so sad for someone to go so early in life.

yes, but you can't change them or stop them - they do what they love.

That's so true, but the vultures are always ready and waiting for it just to happen; i.e., books, videos, etc., out practically the day after Dale Earnhardt (or anyone or anything else for that matter) loses his life.

Now that, I find disgusting.

See, this is one of the reasons I miss half of what's going on--"stop crying", "let mommy readjust your headset", "do you want something to eat", "watch out for the people in front", "do you have to go potty", "go to your father"...............
