Natural Disasters

I saw the one with the parents crying over the child covered in a sheet and thought I was going to throw up. I couldnt read it. I feel so bad for them.

Considering that China is so strict with their laws governing how many kids you can have most of those parents only have one child ~ I can't imagine losing any of my kids, but the thought of losing the only one that I will ever have is unbearable!

You know, I just read this post and thought, I could never look at my child covered up in a sheet. For me, seeing the face and mouth covered in a sheet means my child is no longer able to breathe...or breathing, therefore realizing my child is dead. Just typing this makes me tear up.

Natural disasters are terrifying to me. Not being able to control what's going to happen next and the thought of one of my own getting hurt or killed is petrifying to me.

Just saw this online a few minutes ago ~

In the disaster zone, efforts appeared to shift Sunday from searching for buried survivors to clearing corpses from shattered buildings as the government said the confirmed death toll rose to 32,476.

Another 220,109 people suffered injuries, according to a statement from the State Council, China's Cabinet. The government has said it expects the final death toll will surpass 50,000.

I think it will end up being more than that ~ I can't believe how bad things are over there!

Yes, things are very bad over there.

But what is sad is how sick the media is in America.

So MUCH is being done by the common folks. People are so shocked and want to help.

Noone is reporting how people are driving HOURS AND DAYS trying to get to folks they don't even know in these cities to bring food, water, blankets, etc. Roads to these places are clogged with people just going there to help.

Everyone stopped in China today for 3 minutes. Cities completely stopped. With a billion people, it's a powerful force.

I'm half Chinese and while I have no family in the effected area. I thank Buddha for that. But I grieve for the many who have lost their children.

I have a cousin who works with folks who have wives and family back there.

One guy, Wren, really breaks my heart.

A few of the office people are taking his shifts so he can go home and find out if he has a family. People are working double shifts, 6 days a week, so folks can go home. In China, it's very common to live and work hundreds or thousands of miles from your home, and only go home twice a week.

He has 3 daughters back home and was a total wreck taht he lost any of his little girls. He had so much guilt when he left, I hope he finds them safe and sound.

I get so sick of the "girls are not as important" crap that I keep reading. It's so untrue.

As an Asian man, with 26 female cousins, I can TELL YOU that all of them are totally spoiled who have their daddies wrapped around their fingers.

Not that my daughter has me wrapped, of course.
