Doing some spring cleaning yard work in my backyard yesterday and found a 14carat yellow gold wedding band!!! No idea where it came from :scratch: It is in excellent shape and fits my finger perfectly!! Not sure if it will bring bad luck if I choose to wear it though?? As often as I am in my yard working in my flower beds etc...I never came across this until yesterday??? It was not down in the dirt but was laying in a pile of leaves I had just raked up!!! Husband says maybe a bird or squirrel brought it into the yard?? Or perhaps the racoon that was in my yard the other nite!!

Back out in the yard I go again today for more spring cleaning...Maybe I will get lucky again!! One can only hope!! :)
 
You should post it in your local newspapers lost and found section.It might carry sentimental value to someone.Then,if no one identifies it properly and claims it..take it to the GOLD store for cash.I think its creepy to wear someone else's ring!
 
Yea...It is kinda creepy to wear someone else's ring.....However my back yard is totally fenced in so how would someone have lost it in my backyard??? That is what puzzles me....Besides the fact we are the last house on a dead end street....with no foot traffic in our yard except for me/hubby and the wildlife....
 
reminds me of my lost claddagh pendant, was lost for months and went outside spring time as well and raked up a bit only to find my claddagh had come back to me. :sunny:
 
Certain birds are attracted to shiny things. Crows and blue jays are notorious for picking up rings and such. One could have dropped it in your backyard. Or rain could have washed it into your yard. Is it engraved? My husband lost his ring (and there is no way I think you may have his, lol) on a golf course. While he would love to get it back, we're pretty much resigned to never seeing it again. Figure it is in a bird nest somewhere.
 
Then again the only thing about posting it in an ad is that there are a lot of people who will claim something is theirs to get something for free; how exactly would a person be able to prove it was their to begin with? Crows and Magpies love shiny things, so the ring could have come from anyplace! This may sound mean but, I would honestly say finders keepers, it was on your property and from the sounds of it, I highly doubt someone lost themselves there! I would say keep it around and see if it is lucky, or like the other person said, take it to a gold place and turn it into a little cash-ola. Just my 2 cents. ♥
 
How long have you lived at this address

Possibly it belongs to a previous owner of your home
It may have been slightly buried and when you raked it loosened up from the soil or under a bush
 
Reminds me of a ring I found about 40 years ago.
Really nice diamond.
I turned it in to the Campus Police and forgot about it.

Well about six months later the police called me and asked if I wanted it since no one claimed it.
At first I thought why because it could not be worth anything.

However, I drove down and picked it up.
It appraised at about $2,000 in 1974!

I love that ring and wear it often.
It has never brought me bad luck.

We have lived at this address for 16 years...I do agree if I placed an ad someone would try to claim it that did not really own it...only engraving on it is just 14kt.....I tend to think finders...keepers as well....
