I THINK I won a Lincoln blu-ray from Media Mikes--but here's the email:

Congrats you were chosen to our passes to our Lincoln Blu-ray Combo Pack Giveaway.

Please reply ASAP with your name and address so we the studio mail out your prize

Are you kidding? I'd sooner respond to the request of a Nigerian Prince for my social security number and savings account!
 
Are you questioning the typo/mix-up between passes and blu-ray? Maybe the person who sent the message copied and pasted from a previous winning message notification, but did not fully delete the old information

Mediamikes is legit and the sweeps is listed.

I checked the website and it says, "THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED AND WINNERS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL. PLEASE CHECK BACK EACH WEEK FOR NEW GIVEAWAYS"

Also, when you entered, Medimikes did not ask for your name and address, so they cannot send the prize without it - they just have your email. Here are the entry instructions:

"To celebrate the Blu-ray release of “Lincoln”, Media Mikes would like to giveaway THREE Blu-ray Combo Packs of the film! If you would like to enter for your chance to win this great prize, please leave us a comment below or send us an email with your favorite Steven Spielberg film. This giveaway will remain open until April 19th at Noon, Eastern Time. This is open to everyone in the whole world!! One entry per person, per household. All other entries will be considered invalid. Media Mikes will randomly select winners. Winners will be alerted via email."


If you entered, and if you want the Lincoln Blu-ray, but you still doubt the authenticity of the sender, there are a few things you could do.

You could right click the subject line of the email message and then click on "view message source" to see if that matches the information for Mediamikes.

Its save to give name and address... they aren't asking for any real personal info.

I've have had to resend my name and address as a confirmation to receive smaller prizes...as stated above, they are not asking for SSN, are they?
 
I think this is commonplace in the sweepstaking world.If it was me I would send out my name and address no problem unless I had not entered the contest. When you win a large prize they will ask for a copy of your drivers license. Its part of sweepstakes. Be happy you won.
 
***Did I win - is this a SCAM?

As everyone here knows, I'm BIG on following the rules. I always assume people don't intentionally break them, just that they aren't aware, so I post the limits.

rule of thumb:

1} Did I enter this sweeps?
2} Is the email address consistent with the sponsor/promo?
3} Is the prize I "won" listed as a prize if it was a sweeps I entered?

If NO to any of the above, it's a scam.
