Not many sweeps to enter anymore

Is it just me, but it seems there are not as many good sweeps to enter anymore. I thought the the economy was picking up, but it seems the sweeps sponsors don't think so. This is the worst I have seen since I started sweeping 15 yrs ago.

Seems like lots of them or switching to smaller face book contests instead of the reg contest like we use to find. Like you I don't find as many as in the past. By the list of the wins posted here, seems like others are finding the same.

I couldn't find the post I was looking for/thought was posted that was more definitive, but I did find:

Over the years, I've noticed that sweeps are cyclic - there are usually more/bigger sweeps during the summer and at the end of the year, so the rest of the time seems rather barren.

Winning {for me} is also cyclic, so I take my own advice and just enter and forget it

Ways I deal with the frustration of a dry spell:

1} I get outside of my own head by helping others. Either by voting, answering questions, or just getting a little silly. :crazytongue:

2} I avoid the winners circle. It's not that I'm not happy for other members, it's just that I don't need the constant reminder that I'm not one of them - for now. :crazytongue:

3} I hard charge on sweeps, going through all the categories and getting a sense of satisfaction/accomplishment when I get all caught up.

4} I take a break from the computer, since it's gone from being fun to being a chore.

If you keep pushing yourself to enter and things don't change, you will most likely burn out and quit, whereas if you make a decision to take a break for a day or 2, you are still in control.

I *usually* find I return after my mini "vacation" that I'm refreshed and can see things more clearly, so the little things don't get to me, and I enjoy instead of dreading entering my sweeps. :sunny:

I keep fairly detailed records. There are actually considerably less floating around than there were last year this time. I think they are out there, maybe just harder to find. And there are still enough to keep me interested.
