Next week there is a large festival taking place near us. They are having balloon rides. Anybody that wants to let the balloons land on their property can put out a sheet-and if a balloon lands on your property, you get a prize. Now, I happen to have a really big attractive hay field, with no power lines anywhere near it. I now also have an old king size sheet with a big hot pink smiley face on it. Balloons welcome here! :) I'll let y'all know if we snag a balloon. :sunny:

That's really cool!!! I bet with the originality of that sheet they will surely land in your field! :sunny:

However, I would have to be kidnapped, hog-tied, and hit over the head with something heavy to ever go on a balloon ride.

What an original idea! I would love to ride in the balloons...I would make them land on your property ~lol!!

Red...

DO NOT use any handguns to shoot them down. :nono:

a rifle will do the trick, you know

Or a sign saying "If you don't land here, I will shoot you" might be better than a pink smilie face. They might think you are a commie.. or worse... gasp.. gay!!!

then again, if it's a country preacher, he'll probably land to try to save your soul.

I've lived too long in VA, haven't I?

I was thinking of something more along the lines of "free beer to balloonists" actually... :crazytongue:

Red! You got your computer back! :sunny: You were missed! :headbang:

Good luck with the balloon festival. When they land on your property, the pilot usually presents you with a bottle of champagne as well. YUMMY! :sunny:

Pam, I was fortunate enough to go up once. Honestly, unless you are afraid of heights, it is quite serene. Perhaps too much for me. While hubby loved it, I would rather have been jumping out of a plane! :headbang: This is where our 2 personalities don't match at all.

It was beautiful, peaceful... I went at sunrise, I think if I did it again, I would try sunset.

You should have took a parchute and made it a two-for!! I'll jump out of a plane with ya! Just name the time and place...I want to go so badly!!! Have you done the indoor sky-diving?? Try that and it will make you want to go even worse that you already do!!

 Unfortunately, it' doesn't have anything to do with fear. I would love to be able to. When I get up high everything starts spinning. Even if I close my eyes I feel like I am on a merry-go-round. :crazytongue: I couldn't fly for a long time, but am ok if I am wearing earplugs now. Jumping out of an airplane, that would be fear!
