Not sure what you mean by the box to the left.

There are two boxes and both show you entered.

1. On the left is the Custom Category box which you can fill either by checking Add to My Sweeps and it fills in the default category, or you can select a custom category, then check Add to My Sweeps. Either way, Add to My Sweeps changes to Remove from My Sweeps and that shows you entered.

2. On the right is the little Sweeps Check box. If you check it, it shows you added it, plus it shows when you added it.
