Posting the number of your wins??

So am I bragging when I Post the number of my wins?

For instance I am on #71 this year.

Is it anymore bragging that I post a candy bar win with a number next to it as to someone posting a winning trip to Vegas without a number?

Then why does the posting of any win not be considered bragging?

Let us let the moderator decide

#'s = Bragging or Not?

Personally, I think posted wins regardless of the prize encourage the rest of us to keep entering. Keep 'em coming, and keep posting.

:)

I think it depends on the reader's perception at the time...for example, if I am having a few wins myself, I LIKE seeing people's "bragging" posts with numbers by them.....when I am having a dry spell however, the numbers can seem a little like lemon juice in a paper cut..... Kind of kidding, kind of not.....Im always happy for others wins, but I think its human nature to feel discouraged when it seems some people are having lots of wins and you cant even seem to win a coupon for a pack of gum.....but thats just my two cents

It is motivating to me to see people winning. I do not consider it bragging.

It means it is possible for me to win. There is HOPE :sunny:

I like the numbers because each year I have doubled my wins. I keep a log of my wins so I can see my progression.

10 wins - 2008
25 wins - 2009
56 wins - 2010
71 wins - 2011 so far this year

It looks like a style, like record-keeping, objective, not bragging.

When I read your posts, and others who keep count, I picture something organized, like an Excel spread-sheet. I think it's cool.

I congratulated you on the whole batch, because I am so behind on sweeps, and only post congrats very intermittently. :)

 No one but the person posting knows the intent of the post. I really don't think anything one way or another about the number. I usually assume that the person is merely keeping track of their wins.
I don't post most of my wins, but do occasionally if it is on one that no one else has posted or if it is a really nice win. I mostly post so others know that there was an SA winner. I like reading the wins, seeing what is being won, the excitement of the poster and which contests are having many winners. I know that many people are encouraged by the posts, especially new people just starting out.

Now you tell us, are you keeping track or bragging?

I think it's a great idea. I wouldn't say bragging. Some people just win more than others and that's just the way it is. Just depends on how much you sweep. If you enter only a few a day, then yeah your not going to have that many wins. Keep them coming griffin and good luck to everyone else. My wins are around 70-80 also this year, I just don't post all of them

Did someone comment?

When I see people post negative on someone's win thread, I figure they are in a slump and that they think you winning takes from them.

I don't believe that, but I guess some haven't yet figured out...

Some see sweeping as a zero sum game, where if I win, you lose, but I view it a bit differently - opportunities abound for those willing to commit the time & energy, and while it doesn't give a return equal to our input, if we are consistent, persistent, and patient, the possibilities are endless!!!

Oh, and I'm with arttup - when I see people post the # I figure they are REALLY organized, not bragging!!!
