Prayer Of The Day

Again I am asking everyone to say prayers for those in the path of the storm. It seems they are coming one right after the other. So many have lost so much and the stress that comes with tragedy can be too much to handle. Take your cares to the Lord for he cares for you.

Psalm 107:29

29He hushes the storm to a calm and to a gentle whisper, so that the waves of the sea are still.(A)

God can do all things and he can calm the storm. I pray he will do just that in the next few days and that he will calm the storms in our lives Amen.

Today's Verse:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

This verse in itself is one of those verses that talk about the rapture of the church. I don't think it can get any simplier than that. He is telling us what will happen to those who are looking for him and who believe him and who he is. Praise God he will return and that is our hope. He will rule and reign on earth again. I am so glad I have accepted him as savior.

I am going to ask everyone who reads this thread to please pray for me and my hubby to be safe in this storm. Also when we pray in agreement then God is in the midst of it. I also am praying for all of us in the path. Thank you all and God bless.

extra prayers to you and your family Cindy, hope all is well with the storms. But I know the Lord will guide you through this as he does everything in all our lives. God bless you my friend

 thank you so much and I agree with you I know the Lord is with us. We should be fine. Your prayers mean a lot to me.

Have a blessed day everyone and be safe no matter where you are. God bless

God is so good. He will be there for me no matter what. He is all that we need to get through anything. Always put your trust in him. Thank you Lord for all that you do and all that you are Amen.

I want to mention again today how thankful I am for not having any major damage to my home or my life for that matter. Last night while praying for things I started thinking about how so many have lost so much and that they don't have confortable homes to even be in right now. It just breaks my heart that many are suffering. I can help out wherever I am able to and I can offer financial support but the bigest thing I can do is to offer prayers. God does hear and answer our prayers. Sometimes our prayers may be answered a different way than we want but he has a plan for all mankind and as the days go on after this storm we will hear stories of hero's who helped others. God is there in the storms and out of every storm people show how much we care for one another. We come together as one to be a strength for all. If this is what we get out of tragedy then thank you Lord for human kindness and compassion. That is the spirit of Jesus and that is love.

Proverbs 3
1MY SON, forget not my law or teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;
2For length of days and years of a life [worth living] and tranquility [inward and outward and continuing through old age till death], these shall they add to you.

3Let not mercy and kindness [shutting out all hatred and selfishness] and truth [shutting out all deliberate hypocrisy or falsehood] forsake you; bind them about your neck, write them upon the tablet of your heart.(A)

4So shall you find favor, good understanding, and high esteem in the sight [or judgment] of God and man.(B)

5Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

6In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

7Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.(C)

8It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.

9Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income;(D)

10So shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be overflowing with new wine.(E)

11My son, do not despise or shrink from the chastening of the Lord [His correction by punishment or by subjection to suffering or trial]; neither be weary of or impatient about or loathe or abhor His reproof,(F)

12For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

13Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God's Word and life's experiences],

14For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold.

15Skillful and godly [a]Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her.(G)

16Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor.(H)

17Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

18She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy (blessed, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who holds her fast.

19The Lord by skillful and godly Wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding He has established the heavens.(I)

20By His knowledge the deeps were broken up, and the skies distill the dew.

21My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion,

22And they will be life to your inner self, and a gracious ornament to your neck (your outer self).

23Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble.(J)

24When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

25Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes [for you will be guiltless],

26For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].

27Withhold not good from those to whom it is due [its rightful owners], when it is in the power of your hand to do it.(K)

28Do not say to your neighbor, Go, and come again; and tomorrow I will give it--when you have it with you.(L)

29Do not contrive or dig up or cultivate evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly and confidently beside you.

30Contend not with a man for no reason--when he has done you no wrong.(M)

31Do not resentfully envy and be jealous of an unscrupulous, grasping man, and choose none of his ways.(N)

32For the perverse are an abomination [extremely disgusting and detestable] to the Lord; but His confidential communion and secret counsel are with the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him).(O)

33The curse of the Lord is in and on the house of the wicked, but He declares blessed (joyful and favored with blessings) the home of the just and consistently righteous.(P)

34Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, yet He gives His undeserved favor to the low [in rank], the humble, and the afflicted.(Q)

35The wise shall inherit glory (all honor and good) but shame is the highest rank conferred on [self-confident] fools.

Jesus is our source. Too many times we may look for answers to our problems in the wrong places like alcohol drugs or even over eating. Something to just ease the pain we feel inside. We are looking for something to comfort us and just an escape. The answer to all our problems is Jesus. Nothing else will ever come close and everything else is a lie. We know who the author of lies is so always go to the source. He will give you the answers you need. He is the foundation that will keep you strong.

Thank you Lord for being my source and my foundation. With you I can stand strong and withstand any storm. I will put my trust in you and lean not unto my own understanding. In Jesus name I pray Amen.

Isn't God's word wonderful?

I would like to say a prayer this morning for this country and for it's leaders. We are the best place to live in the world and I hope God will continue to bless this nation.

LORD I ask that you will protect this country and that you will guide our leaders. Give them wisdom just as Solomon had wisdom. Help them to lead with good values and to keep you first in their lives. You are the foundation on which we stand and in God we do trust. Let us continue to be one nation under God Amen.

Be blessed and be a blessing

Today's Verse:
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Colossians 4:6 / KJV

I love that the verse of the day is here so that I can comment on it. This verse is refering to the fact that we are to know how to talk to others about Christ. Here's the interpertation in the amplified version.

6Let your speech at all times be gracious (pleasant and winsome), seasoned [as it were] with salt, [so that you may never be at a loss] to know how you ought to answer anyone [who puts a question to you].

We as Christians must always be ready to tell someone what the gospel is and we must remember to be strong in our conviction. Especially today when so many are lost. God give us the strength to speak boldly and firmly when it comes to you and your word Amen.

Thank you Lord for the beautiful weather we have been having. It is your way of helping those here in Houston and anywhere else that do not have electricity after the storm. You are so good Lord you will be with us no matter what we face. There is always something wonderful that comes out of tragedy Amen.

As Christians we need to look for the blessings in life and we need to always be thankful no matter what. There is always a rainbow if we look for it. I am so blessed that I feel overjoyed because God is in control. Seek him out. He is waiting on you.

Psalm 2
1WHY DO the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme?
2The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say,(A)

3Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.

4He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].

5He speaks to them in His deep anger and troubles (terrifies and confounds) them in His displeasure and fury, saying,

6Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.

7I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You.(B)

8Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.

9You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters' ware.(C)

10Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the earth.

11Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him].

12Kiss the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled. O blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!

I truly love Psalms when I am in the mood to praise his name. It's amazing how God used a man like David and placed him in a position of King. And yet David had turned his back on God at one point when he took another man's wife and had him killed on the battlefield. God says that David was a man after his own heart and yet David sinned against God. But God forgave him and still loved him. God is like that. He knows we are human and we make many mistakes but if we are repentant and we go to the Father to ask forgiveness he will forgive. Jesus knew we would never be spotless so he gave his life for our sins just so that we could be reconciled to God. What a perfect gift. To be saved by the one lamb of life. He gave his life for ours. That never ceases to amaze me.

We all have a sin nature but God forgives us if we ask. The more time we spend with him the less we will sin because we are a new creature in Christ. The Holy Spirit lives in us and he teaches us right from wrong. Just like David had to repent so do we. God knows our hearts and he wants us to walk upright before him. Lord I confess any sin and ask forgiveness knowing you will forget never to remind me again of the sin in my life. I am not perfect but I have a perfect savior who died for me and is leading me to you. In Jesus name I pray Amen.

Lift up the Lord for he is worthy of all praise. Sing praises to his name. Whenever you are feeling down just praise him. You will start to feel better right away. Just try it you'll see.

Christ is our teacher and our example as to how we should live. He wants us to study his word and come to him in prayer because that is how we can listen to him. Imagine yourself siting at his feet and hearing all that he is trying to say to us. What a great place to be. At the feet of the teacher, the master. I long to be in his presence. I have such a strong yerning to see his face. There is no one else that comes before him and he is always waiting on all of us just to come and learn from him Amen.

Don't allow life to overwhelm you because God is by your side. He is the only way to get through anything that you can't handle on your own. Don't give in to sin because sin leads to more sin and eventually leads to death. Turn from sin and you will be free from death Amen.

Let's all say a special prayer today for our leaders. The Bible tells us to pray for them to have wisdom and today they need it. We can humble ourselves and seek God's face. I hope we will all be in a better place financially soon.

God bless
