Prize People Page Pop -Ups?

This started happening to me yesterday, while I was entering Daily Sweeps. A whole new page opens.

Today, I did not use Sweeps Pop so that I could try to figure out where it originates. I didn't get too far though because I was too busy and only entered 40 dailies, but did get the Prize People Page twice.

I am glad you asked, because I was trying to get more information before asking but haven't had a chance.

It happens when I enter the ET Online Media Sweeps. There are 4 of them $500, $750, $1,000 and $1,500. I usually open all 4 at once & get the Prize People page in spite of my pop-up blocker.

It appears to be a sweeps listing site like SA. Apparently there's some sort of business relationship with ET Online Media, or they are a related company. Look at the bottom of the page for the ET Online Media Sweeeps. SA is listed along with 22 other sweeps listing sites.

ps: I've looked at most of the other sites at various times in the past & SA is the best.

Try out different pop-up blockers. I don't get those or any pop-ups, and I have mine set to manually set a site/page to accept pop-ups if I trust them enough. :)

I have pop-up blockers. usually none get through , just occassionally Netflix for some reason?
this one comes when it wants to, not just specifically from one site either, . thanks. :sunny:

It has been doing that to me to even though I also have pop-up blockers with high settings. It only happens when I enter sweeps in Internet Explorer 8, not in FireFox. Not sure why. I tried everything to get it to stop. I do not get any security warnings about the page and I have high security settings on my computer because I also use it for business. So, it seems to be harmless, annoying, but harmless.

GLTA & God Bless!

Have you downloaded and tried "IE7Pro"? You can use that on IE7 and IE8. It has so many options to make using your computer so much easier including AdBlock.

This is the same sweep the pop up appears for me too.

I don't understand and I don't like it.

Has anyone who has been getting these pop-ups, in spite of pop-up blockers, found a way to stop them?

I use Firefox and Adblock Plus and have not had any pop-ups until very recently. They are not random. These new pages opening from FastSweeper.com and Prize People seem to pop-up when I enter from MyPlingo, ET Online Media, Mongobongo.net, MaxBeauty, and possibly iTunes and Get iTunes. I have deleted all of these from my Dailies. Will see what happens.

Adding to the list:

DecoGalore.com - KitchenAid 5-Quart Mixer Giveaway

VacationMag - $1500 Adventure Gift Card Giveaway

Fast Sweeper & Prize People are the only ones I get. They're piggybacking on the sweeps from ET Online Media and FamilyCovers. Both Fastsweeper & Prizepeople are sweeps listing sites and are SA competitors. They open their home page as a full page, not just a small pop up. It appears to be a way for them to get advertising on SA's site without without paying for the privilege.

Zero pop-ups today from Fast Sweeper and Prize People, now that I deleted all my sweeps from:

MyPlingo
ET Online Media
Mongobongo.net
MaxBeauty
iTunes
Get iTunes
DecoGalore
VacationMag
Warm Dust (not sure if this one was guilty, but deleted anyway)
