I know there are a couple of other threads here somewhere about this but Im to lazy to look them up soooo... what movies have you recently watched? what were they about? were they good?

Taking chance
~ A~ Based on the true story of a a volunteer military escort officer who escorts the body of Marine Chance Phelps back to his hometown. Its a great movie. well acted, well written.. I just loved it. It is very sad though.

My Bloody Valentine
(09)~ C ~ pretty good remake. more bloody than the original. It doesnt follow the original scene for scene like some remakes do. It is different.

kill Theory~ B ~ This is a horror/thriller movie. Its not just your typical college kids chased my insane maniac and killed off one by one. The story isnt original but it is interesting. Also has a nice surprise ending.

what have you watched recently?

This is terrible but, the latest movies I watched were 'The wizard of Oz' and 'Jeff Dunham'.

While taking our nephew to football practice in another town, we found a theater and was going to watch a movie but, didn't know if we would have had time. There are a few movies I'd like to see right now, I like reading the reviews others post.

Hellboy II ~ C-

My Hubby wanted to see this one so I NetFlix'd it... glad I didn't waste my money at the theater on this one!

We saw it at the drive in.. I thought it was alright just to much flash and not enough substance ya know. You could really tell that Guillermo del Toro was behind it just by the costumes and creatures. It was like hey look at me! dont I look cool? ummm, boring :sleepy:

I watched that too. I like that they are going to have babies. yay!!!!!!!

I watched Made of honor. That was kinda funny, romantic.

I rented Nick and norahs infinite playlist from the library. Haven't watched it yet.

Ive been watching Roswell tv show on dvds, I love it.

Shaun of the dead~ A~ Watched it again yesterday. That makes umm... 50 times probably. I love it. If you havent seen it you should check it out. Its hilarious.

And the newest movie that I go quote crazy over is..

Tropic Thunder~ A ~ omg! this movie has so many great one liners. I dont quote it like I do pulp fiction but it is quickly becoming one of my favorites to quote. one of my favorites... I dont know what its called; I only know the sound it makes when it LIES! If you havent seen this one be sure to check it out. It is rated R for a reason.. the language is pretty bad.

if you have seen these what did you think of them?

Shaun of the dead~ A~ Watched it again yesterday. That makes umm... 50 times probably. I love it. If you havent seen it you should check it out. Its hilarious.

That is one of my all time favorites, love love love it! I have it on DVD and in the "extras" they have some really funny stuff too~ like the scene where Pete is getting on the guys for playing their "Hip-Hop" and he's dropping the F-bomb... they have the edited for TV version where the naughty word is replaced with "funkin" and I almost ruptured myself laughing the first time I watched it.

IMHO Brits know how to do comedy right.

Elizabeth & Elizabeth Golden Age ~ Both A+

Intelligent and beautifully done. Even my hubby liked it and he has questionable taste sometimes.

  If I had to guess I would say that 60-70% of the movies I watch are British, followed by Asian and other foreign films.. American movies make up less than 15% of what I watch.

I love the funkin scene. Its not as funny though as funky pete actually say the F word though. That is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. The entire move though is just great.

Do you watch a lot of horror/comedy movies? If you havent seen the cottage yet you should check it out. Another British horror/comedy. Its another of my favs.

Elizabeth & Elizabeth Golden Age ~ Both A+

Intelligent and beautifully done. Even my hubby liked it and he has questionable taste sometimes.

I will check it out. My husband has horrible taste. I stopped asking him to pick movies out of our collection to watch because I always hear the same thing.... Fantastic four? NO!.. Van helsing? NO!

Van Helsing? Somebody watches that more than once...? Other than to cut out the annoying "movie" bits and just look at Hugh Jackman?

The Skeleton Key, with Kate Hudson. It was pretty cool, set in New Orleans with all the typical VooDoo, dark rooms, and sweaty people that are typical of movies set in the south. Pretty cool movie though. Didn't see that ending coming

The boy in the stripped pyjamas~ A ~ From IMDB
Set during World War II, a story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a concentration camp, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has startling and unexpected consequences.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0914798/

This is one of those movies that either you will love or hate. The subject matter is difficult but the relationship between the two boys kind of balances it ,They are wonderful in this. I must tell you though that this movie is not for those that get upset easily. Its heartbreaking. really, really heartbreaking. Its a little slow but its not to bad. The story takes awhile to get going but never feels dragged down.

Twilight ~ B ~ I liked it. The relationship between bella and edward is sweet. Granted its a movie for teeny boppers but is still interesting. I can see how teenage girls are going ga ga over this.. hot guys!.

If you like this movie and want to see a vampire movie with children that totally rocks ya gotta see let the right one in~ A ~. Its beautiful, wonderfully written and acted. It is subtitled but I like subtitled movies. Its a unique film. There isn't a lot of gore but what it does have is... uh, impressive.

Transporter 3~ this pains me.. D~ I love the first two movies and watch them often. I will not buy this one. It was awful. It was slow, boring and just ridiculous. The fight scenes were really bad and I hated the female lead. The driving scenes were kinda cool but there wasnt enough of it to save this movie from its stupid plot, horribly choreographed fight scenes and just a blah performance by Statham.

Martyrs~ B ~ This is a horror movie.. along the lines of inside and high tension. Very bloody. Its a french film so its subtitled. Most people will hate this movie if they can even finish it. Its disturbing how violent it is. Putting that aside its actually a well written interesting story. The actors are great also. It has some really, really freaky moments in it. I spent more than a couple of minutes with my hands over my eyes going ew ew ew.. is it over?. I wasnt really sure what grade to give this.. I liked it but.. it was soooo brutal it makes me not want to give it a good grade. I couldnt stop watching though. I had to see what would happen next. If you like movies like inside, high tension or maybe even hostel and the saw franchise you should check this one out.

Totally shifting gears here...

Dear Zachary: A letter to a son about his father ~ A ~ This is a documentary. Its about a guy who sets out to make a movie about his murdered friend... its the saddest movie I have ever seen. It is a true story. I cant really say to much without giving stuff away. Just check it out.. from IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1152758/

I'm sorry Transporter 3 was bad....

Just watched Little Buddha. Stunningly beautiful kids movie, slower than watching redwoods grow, but really visually engaging.

Punisher: war zone~ B ~ Way better than the first one. Tons of action and blood. The first ten minutes are so cool. My only complaint is the accents. omg! Its just awful. The new york/ Italian accents, The Russian accents are all just terrible and several of the main actors are brits and there accents sneak in occasionally. Its very annoying. I love the British accent but not when they are playing an American. Get it right please. Its almost comical how bad it is.

Its a fun movie though.

knowing~ C ~ Didnt really care for this. If they had just let it be a fun im going to save the world stuff it would have been better. It takes itself way to seriously and it bored me. It looks good and nic cage is alright I just get tired of him playing the same guy over and over.. :sleepy: It failed to entertain me like punisher did.

Bedtime Stories - Not bad. A little too cutesy here and there but entertaining overall. Russell Brand cracks me up in this one.

Marley and Me - I felt like the biggest wuss after watching this one. I bawled my eyes out over the last half hour or so. Funny, sweet, sad in parts. Well worth the watch.

First off, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Twilight. lol

The movies I watched recently was The boy in the striped pajamas that was a crazy movie. I had no idea what is was going to be about, it was a good movie. Really sad. But interesting. I love watching movies about history and stuff. And seeing into what it could be like then. The ending was like wow!! Ok i wont give it away. But I was like well serves them right.

Other movie, The guardian, so freaking good, I loved it.
