Recently watched movies

Autopsy ~ D ~ Typical crazies killing people movie. Its got pretty decent gore and the acting is pretty good... Its got Ross McCall in it from Hooligans and green street hooligans 2, Thats the only reason I wanted to see it. He plays an American so it disappointed me. :laughing:

Its set in hospital which is always creepy to me so that helps but the movie is just boring. And the characters are soooo stupid I just wanted to smack em. I should have known that it was going to be bad when in the first 15-20 minutes of the movie im yelling at how stupid they are.. hello, real paramedics dont do that stupid. :cussing:

Avoid.
 
Lakeview Terrace ~B~ Samuel L. Jackson is craaaazy in this. :popcorn: I liked it. Samuel really is very good at playing a psychotic. My only complaint about the movie is that it doesnt really explain why he has gone off the deep end. Sure they hint that he has had problems in the past but nothing on this scale. Is it because of his wife? The job? just because the neighbors are a bi-racial couple? That hardly seems reason enough.

Its worth a watch for sure.

I also watched Chris Rock: kill the messenger last night. ~ D ~ It had some really funny parts but a good chunk of it was boring. I was surprised. It was not like his usual stuff. I normally bust a gut when I watch him but I yawned through this one.
 
Iron Man ~ B-

I didn't think I was going to like this one but Robert Downey Jr made this movie enjoyable. He really is an incredible actor, even if he is a bit of freak. It was somewhat predictable and I would have graded it higher but for that. I really liked his smart-butt computer... I am glad mine can't talk to me because I am sure it would be busting my chops all the time for the dippy things I sometimes do. (I still cannot get a screen shot to attach to my posts :laughing:) My hubby was luke-warm about the movie, go figure!

I love Robert Downey jr. I like Iron Man also :laughing: with the screen shot, you can take one just not post it?.. If thats the case you need to go somewhere like imageshack and upload your pic, get the image code and then post that.

Boring weekend so im watching a ton of movies this weekend.

I watched Quarantine over the weekend. :popcorn: That movie was creepy, for sure. It was shot almost like a documentary...the entire movie played out through the lens of a tv camera (similar to Blair Witch Project and Cloverdale). After watching this movie, I am now wishing I had a secret exit from my own home.

you should watch the original REC.. Quarantine is almost shot for shot like REC only IMO not as good. :laughing: REC feels more claustrophobic to me, im not sure why.

The movie does make ya wonder though.... :popcorn:

Eden lake~ C ~ I talked about this one before, I think I gave it an F.. :laughing: I bought it yesterday and watched it again. I only bought it because the ending is so terrible. Its one of those movies that you just go omg! wth! :laughing: so after the second viewing I upped my score for it. I gotta give the writers, director, etc credit for not taking the easy way out with this movie. The ending will surely tick off, or im my case make physically ill, a lot of people and a good movie should elicit a strong reaction and this one does.

I found it. I actually gave it a D :laughing:

Eden Lake~D~ British film about wild, unruly.. putting it mildly... teenagers. They terrorize two people visiting a lake..typical kind of movie except that these teens are a little more crazy than the usual psycho's and the ending is absolutely horrendous.. this one takes the cake for bad endings.. It would have been a pretty decent movie otherwise. This movie does not have a happy ending.. stay away!!!!!!

The Uninvited - So, so. Some creepy scenes but not creepy enough and the twist was not done well. But it was entertaining.

I havent watched the uninvited yet.. I like the original, a tale of two sisters. Im just getting a little burned out on all the hollywood remakes of great Asian horror movies. They usually screw it up. I will check it out though. Im waiting on hollywood to try and remake Audition. :nono:
 
I found a bunch of dvds that I had put in a chest because I didnt have room for them. :laughing: so I will be watching them for a while.

X-Men~ B ~ All three of these are really good movies. This one isnt as good as the third but is better than the second.

Gothika~ D ~ This could have been a great movie. It has a really good cast..Robert Downey Jr, Halle Berry, and Charles Dutton, But they couldnt save this movie. This movie requires that you leave all intelligence at the door. :laughing: There are so many things that you just go.. what? That wouldnt happen!

Joy Ride 2 dead ahead ~ D~ eh, what can I say its a typical young people meet crazy guy. think the hitcher meets...well, the hitcher :laughing: Nicki Aycox is a horrible actress. truly horrible. She overacts in everything I have seen her in. I couldnt care less about any of the characters. He is going to kill him!!!!.. yeah, and? :laughing:

I liked the third one the best too, can't wait to see the new one. Gambit was always one of my favs and he is in it!

Really?!? I would have given it a low B. I thought it was a nice departure from the rest of the hack and slash, teeny-bopper trash that was passing for horror at the time. :popcorn: Oh well, there is no accounting for taste (jk). :crazytongue:

:laughing: Sometimes I get hung up on little things and it kills a movie for me. For instance, She would not be under the care of her former co-workers. wouldn't happen. She wouldnt be able to get out and run around the place not once, but twice. The police officer would not have free access to the prisoners, The security guard would not have given her the keys, The house would be the first place the police would check, and she would not just get a free pass at killing because he was a killer.. etc. :laughing: see, I picked it apart. I dont do that with all movies I watch just some. Not sure why. maybe I was expecting more out of this one considering the cast.

But I will agree that the typical teeny boper slasher stuff is so overdone. every time ya turn around its another one. different actors and location but same ole story... :sleepy:
 
Crank 2~ B ~ I give it a B one because I love jason statham :love: and two because its just so crazy. :laughing: If you are expecting anything that resembles realistic stay away from this. Its over the top like the first one. If you dont take it seriously its a riot.
 
The Night Before
Newly out on DVD this 1980's teen comedy is-really strange. Its has Parliment/Funkadelic,too. If you liked other strange 80's teen comedies this one, well, this one is a little more "off"....and George Clinton is amazing as always.
 
Hellboy 2~ C ~ I saw this at the drive in and I dont remember what I scored it then :scratch: not higher than a C I would think. I rented it because I thought well, it was the second feature at the drive in and maybe I was just tired and thats why I thought it was bad.. possible right? :laughing:

I may have been tired but thats not why I didnt care for it. Watching again I can say its not really that great. It looks really good but its all flash and no substance. The dialogue is really cheesy at times and its just.. I dont know, I cant really put my finger on it. I wont be buying it thats for sure.

Life after people~ B ~ My daughters pick. She watched it on the history channel(yes, she watches the history channel :scratch: ) and wanted me to watch it. I thought it was pretty good. A little repetitive at times but interesting to see what things would be like if we were taken out of the picture.

I also rented the mark of cain but havent watched it yet. I hadnt read any reviews before I rented but did after I rented it.. yeah, I know. :popcorn: not that I rely on reviews to pick my movies but will see if this is as bad as "they" say.
