scam or legit?

a friend of mine rec'd a text that she won a $1,000. gift certificate from Best Buy. said from sweeps she entered last month. she does not recall entering one, she asked my advice since she knows I enter a lot. If she did she thinks it would be through Facebook.

I told her I would post here and check a couple of other places.

I do not think they would text regarding a prize that size, I would think an email with affy.

So any ideas?

I have no experience with what youre talking about, but others here have and I believe the general consensus is scam. Hopefully someone else can tell you more, but if you dont enter by text, you probably wont be notified by text. Hope this helps.

SCAM I received the same text and googled the number and found several hundred post of it being a scam.

I got it too while I was out {only time I turn it on} - delete was my response! :nono:

I won $1000.00 from an AT&T contest a few years ago and only received an email. Didn't have to fill out an affy. A couple weeks later the check came in the mail.
