Some wins aren't items, but rather something like having your life saved.

I hope this doesn't violate using the "winner's" list, but two weeks ago today I was dead. I won a second chance at life! Short version: I drowned and was revived by a combination of CPR and defibrillation. Long story is here if you want to read it: I was dead, but I'm feeling much better now!

I feel so lucky to be alive, that my past years of non-wins don't matter. I'll keep entering sweepstakes, but if all my luck was used up on July 14, it was worth it. Glad to be here!

That is absolutely insane that it happened to you! I am very thankful for you that your life is okay and you were brought back to good health. Completely agree with you on the fact that if it were to happen to me that would be the greatest win of all time, having life.

I however don't think that your luck is run out, you're probably luckier than most of us here!

I read your blog. That's amazing that something so scary can happen so quickly. I'm glad you're okay. It kind of puts everything in perspective, doesn't it?

One *extra* nice thing: I have gotten more hugs from my kids in the past two weeks than the past two years before that! :)

La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Shores are my old playground. I grew up in La Mesa, which is inland from San Diego. My friends and I were always going to the beach there. I remember watching huge waves crashing over the Sea Wall at La Jolla Cove. You didn't dare walk out on it when the waves were like that.

If you have to die, I highly recommend La Jolla, you can't pick a prettier place for your demise.

Still, I'm glad your death didn't result in your final resting place.

Welcome back!

:)

PS: You missed your calling. You should have been a writer

So glad that you are fine now. God sure did work a miracle in your life. I like those kind of wins myself. I had one of them in Feb. Not a drowning but an emergency surgery that saved my life. May God bless you and your family and hopefully it will show your children and all of you just how important life is and not to take showing each other how much you love each other for granted.

WOW! No win can top this! And all the good things that actually came out of something so terrifying! You will even be healthier than when this all started! Happy to hear you are on the mend and can keep on sweeping!

Well, in a way it's all a very sweet bonus now. Thanks for sharing this incredible experience and reminding us about what's really important!

Thanks for sharing a great story our Lord gave you another chance i would rather see this than a win, a life saved God Bless You and am very happy you are ok.

Wow, what an adventure, not one you ever want to repeat. You are right, this "win" is better than any other win.

Well Dave...so happy to hear that you're no longer dead...we missed you and we're glad you're back among us. Every sweet breath is a win against the biggest odds there are. We're happy for you and for your family.
