Sweeps displayed per page

I have a question for the GTB.

When I first joined up here one was able to change the "sweeps displayed per page". So I changed from the default of 25 to 100.

But now I want to change it back since I am having so much trouble loading the pages in a timely fashion (if at all). I thought that if I shortened the listings they might be able to load properly. My main problem is in the actual listing section with only partial pages coming up after waiting for 2 minutes for the page to load to start with! I spent over 2 hours last night trying to get a single page of listings to completely load.

I looked at the "pinned" topic list in this part about how to change it ... but if one goes to "my sweeps" and follows the instructions by clicking on "preferences" it doesn't go to the page it shows as being linked but just sends you back to "SA Main".

Anybody have any wisdom? Or even any BS??? I am desperate here!!! This is making it almost impossible for me to use the listings! :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: I have given up trying to enter sweeps for the last month! The last date was January 11th!!!!

It worked for me LB - from the Home Page, I clicked MY SWEEPS, then at the top were blue links>

Profile » Change Password » Preference

Clicking Preference got me:

http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/cp/preference.php


Number of links in category page
Number of links in search result

With boxes to the right that I could change from the 99 I have set.

I wonder why it looped you back? :scratch: I let GSW know :sunny:
 
Also - you might want to try bookmarking your sweeps. I do that in Firefox, then I can open the tabs in each folder {I think it's 24 per folder max, but you might want to try 10} and I just do other things while they load.

Lots of sweeps have landing pages, where you click enter to get the actual sweeps - maybe bookmark that 2nd page to help speed things up too?

I even clicked on the link in your post .... got taken to SA Main again :error: :error: :error: :error:

I am just trying to get caught up on 'one entry' sweeps. the problem isn't with getting to the site ... just getting the bloody listings page here to load :cry:

At least the site has quit freezing up on me!

Maybe one of you GTB's can go into my preferences and change that option to 25 for me???? :)

Finally was able to access the preferences section! switched it to 25 and now the pages will load!

The only thing I can figure out is that it was taking so long to download that the code was timing out on itself!! :error:

I can live with the slow download times now .... :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:
 
Oh good, glad you got to it LB!!! :headbang:

btw - Ken has told us if we have trouble with the site loading slow/etc. to log out, clear cookies/temp files, then reload and log back in - that it's a server problem and doing that get you {hopefully!} to a faster one.

I take it a step further & reboot, JIC. Always works like a charm for me.
