The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It's called the Rainbow Bridge becuase of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

I'll be the person burried under one thousand cats, several dogs, three dozen pigs, a goat, hamsters, gerbils, turtles...and my pet cricket. It will look like something out of Constantine...

I LOVE this story!!!

We have so many pets, and we loved them all, particularly the greyhounds (Flicka, Secret, Big Dog, and Echo), and Oliver (springer spaniel), Max and Furrball (cat), and on and on ... I will be licked, and licked, and licked when I pass on and go over the Rainbow Bridge!!!

Right now we have two dogs (Olivia and Will) and two cats (Pippin III and Leia), and we love them, too. They all came from a rescue shelter. As a matter of fact, all of our pets either came from a rescue shelter or "adopted" us when they were strays. (Both of my boys brought home strays - both dogs and cats, and said that they "followed them home" even as they were holding them in their arms!)

I once read a comment from Billy Graham ~ after being asked many many times if he thought there would be animals in Heaven he finally responded that he believed there would be! He thought that something that gives humans so much happiness wouldn't be excluded.

I sure hope he is right ~ I have a big reunion waiting for me if he is correct! I have loved many animals and I think they have loved me as well!!
