Tropical Storm Gustav

This one looks bad. I am really worried about everyone that is in the path of this storm ~ I have a bad feeling about this one. Hope I am so wrong!

I don't like this one either. I am right up from Galveston and actually a little west of Houston. I hope we are all going to be ok.
 
OK I am on line now and we are expecting things to start getting bad around 3 this afternoon. Rain should start and then the winds will get really bad as the night progresses. The storm is expected to make landfall around 2AM. We have supplies and we got all the gas we could find just in case we have to get out at some point. Gas stations are out of regular gas so you have to buy premium. Grocery store shelves are empty and no water. We went last night and did get some water. This is just one of those wait and see things it's supposed to be a cat. 3 at landfall but right now it's a cat.2
 
this on is an ugly one should be hitting land in about 12 or so hours maybe a little longer
 
Galveston is flooding now and these houses are on stilts. This is a bad one. I have to say I am a little nervous.
 
Just now watching a report on CNN where the sea walls are already being breached at 17 feet this early, that is just scary! You guys stay safe and keep us updated when you can!
 
My parents live in Lake Jackson, TX...just a bit down the coast from Galveston...by Freeport...
They evacuated yesterday night to College Station, TX...
We'll see if they have a home to come back to in a couple of days...
