This one requires a cell phone number. Do you who enter their numbers have a problem with unwanted calls? I refuse to give out my cell phone # because I don't want to pay for those calls. Am I wrong about this?

I also use my cell phone # for contests so I don't have to worry about missing a winning call when I see a number on my home phone I don't recognize. I get 20 sales/political/junk calls a day on my home phone. About 6 months ago Bass Fishing Pro called my cell with a sales pitch after I entered a contest, but that's the only unwanted call I've ever received on my cell.

That's the only number I give out because when I started doing this I didn't want the house phone ringing off the wall. To my surprise and maybe dismay LOL, I haven't gotten ANY unwanted calls. That's just my experience though. Any other experiences from anyone?

I never specify my cell number AS a cell number. I don't do texting and I don't pay for it so I don't want a lot of texts sent to me. If it asks, I specify it as my home phone.

Since damnyankee mentioned texts, I will say that since I use only my cell # for entering contests, I have received a *few* texts that are contest-related, but not too many. With 3 daughters on my cell phone plan, I of course went with "unlimited texting" option, lol.

I give out my cell phone number. I hardly receive unwanted phone calls. Very rarely. I don't have texting, so i don't receive any of that stuff.
If i do receive a call, it's most likely because i forgot to check off the "don't contact me" box. i go so fast sometimes, it's my own fault.

Only one time did I have a problem of sorts...calls from Publishers Clearing House. They were persistent for a short while.

I sign up with my google voice number. That way, if one of the people go crazy with the calling, I can just request a new phone number from google and it doesn't mess with my regular calls. Plus, it rings on my phone like a regular voice call.

It's funny, when I read this earlier, I thought to myself I've never had a problem with any unwanted phone calls...and then about an hour later I received this text message: "17624367288: Congratulations...
Please call (877) 439-0879 to claim your $100 rewards certificate" I have no idea what it's from, but it looks suspicious to me!

I have had a lot; won't use my cell phone any more on contests. My original intent in using it was that it's the best way to contact me; always have it with me.
