W-9 FORM

I won a sweeps where the prize is a $250 Amazon GC. The sponsor is asking me to fill out a W9 form which includes my SS#.
I'm apprehensive in giving this info for a $250 prize. I do believe it's legit, but nervous with giving them my SS#.
I would appreciate others experiences in handling such circumstances.

:sunny: Congratulations on the win! By IRS law all prizes should be claimed. The sponsor has every right to ask you to fill out the W-9. I have been asked to fill out and return on alot less than $250. In the end it is up to you.
