What are your favorite self-help books?

I read both of these, and think they're great books with practical advice:

The Millionaire Next Door

The Luck Factor

The second book is particularly good for sweepstakers, and some of the insights in the book are things we say at the forum. The first one is something that everybody should read, especially if you've got debt. It's truly a different way of looking at money.

Rich people are cheap. Hello.

What are your favorite self-helpers? I stopped reading books on understanding men a long time ago. None of them helped.

I like self help books, the modern books though. My favorite self help book is about marriage. I will be back in a bit and share, it was a good book. I am looking forward to reading this thread.

I don't really read self help books, tho I'm sure some would say I need them! You are right tho, I have read the same thing about the rich. They stay out of debt and don't over-extend. We do the same thing, and life is nice. We won't ever be rich, but the only debt we have is our mortgage, and that makes for a peaceful mind.

Hey, I could have written this!!!

You only need to answer this one question: Do you feel lucky? Well, do you?

I hope you said yes. If you did you are probably a lucky person. Lucky people feel lucky. They believe that good luck will come their way. And amazingly, it does.

People who see themselves as unlucky really are. They win fewer prizes in the lottery, they lose out on good jobs and meaningful relationships. They are the losers they perceive themselves to be. Pity. If only they thought of themselves as winners, their luck would change for the better.

Even better, he gives practical examples on how to get lucky, not just to feel it. Luck is often created by personal behavior and how we interact with the world, and 'splains it to us.

Much like winning sweepstakes, luck in life is based on the law of averages.
