What influenced you to start sweeping?

It is a long way back and deep down I have missed sweeping and my friends. Cava got me stared and now slowly as I keep stress free I am coming back. This has been my home for 4 years or more. This is my family and my friends. I missed you so much Dee.

I started back in the early 80's with the snail mail 3x5s. I was an at-home mom of three, and things were pretty tight. My favorite sweepstakes story was when I was worried about paying a $270 car bill, and the morning it was due I won $275 on a call-in radio show. After that, I was hooked. We never took vacations, except to visit relatives. In 20 years of sweeping, I've won a 4-day skiing trip to Aspen, a 4-day trip to the Super Bowl in Atlanta, and a 4-day trip to Hollywood to be an extra in a soap opera. I've also won a weekend in a local luxury hotel, a TV, and various cash and minor prizes. All that was "before" SA!! After my husband died of cancer and I had to go back to work, I didn't do much for fun or relaxation. One day I was just surfing the net and googled "sweepstakes"...and there it was!! I appreciated how organized and detailed the site was, and I was blessed to have a big win in the first month--a $1900 Comfort Select bed and a $1000 GC to Bed Bath and Beyond to redecorate my bedroom! The only problem now is that I tend to be somewhat obsessive and spend hours on the site--and I especially enjoy reading the posts which make you feel like you're getting to know some of the other sweepers. I should probably get a "real" life....nah! It's still too much of a rush!!

As silly as this may sound, I bought a book on how to increase your odds playing the lottery, games and sweepstakes and read about the different sweepstakes websites. SA was the first one I checked out, and I loved it. I did it just for fun to start and won a few things. I am pretty new still, but it is addicting and I get excited to check my mail and e-mail everyday. If I keep plugging away, who knows what I will win?
