It`s not only Super Bowl Sunday but also we are deep into some of the coldest air of the winter season in North Central Wisconsin. Temperatures kicked off the day running anywhere from -15 to -25 and even through there will be copious amount of sunshine around, the mercury will struggle to make it much higher than the single digits below zero. In addition, northwesterly winds running anywhere from 10 to 15 mph should push wind chill values down into the -35 to -50 degree range.
There is not any relief on the way for tonight with a moonlit sky and brutally cold conditions. Lows diving down to -20 to -25. The work week gets underway on Monday with a fair amount of sunshine and afternoon readings inching close to the zero degree mark.
A weak wave of low pressure is expected to slide by to our south on Tuesday, however it may be close enough to produce a few flurries during the morning. Sunshine is then expected to pop out for the afternoon with still colder than average temperatures. Speaking of which, that trend of cold weather persists right through the week with dry conditions on tap for Wednesday through Saturday. If anything, there may be some moderation in the temperatures. Yes, believe it or not highs could actually be in the double digits above zero for the middle of the week and again during the upcoming weekend. As it stands right now, no major storm systems are forecast to impact the Upper Midwest.
Have a Super Sunday and enjoy the Super Bowl tonight!
