Shock is exactly what we were thinking as well! I don't know anything about the chemical make up of ink but thought it all to be somewhat poisonous to the body.

I'll tell hubby what you said about the cheap ink. He did mention the guy was a little heavy handed but then again, hubby had some scars the guy had to tat over and the skin was a little more than tough according to the artist.

His artist works for a reputable shop. I'm not familiar with how it all works. Do the shops normally supply the ink or is the artist responsible for buying their own?

I want a female artist when I have mine done. In fact, I want no one else besides Kat Von D! :laughing:
 
It depends on the individual shop, they are privately owned, so the set-up varies. As far as I know, tattoo ink that is made properly is non-toxic unless you are allergic, or it is made cheaply and has toxic impurities. There is a greater chance of an allergic reaction with some colors, I think red is the worst from what I remember. There's a good topic to occupy myself with next time I go to Prizewish! :laughing:

Another aspect that may have made things worse for your hubby is if he wasn't well hydrated. I know many men aren't so good about making sure to drink enough water. It really makes a difference when you get a big tattoo, you really need to make sure to drink and eat while you are sitting there for hours. :popcorn: :coffee:

I agree with you about Kat. She is so cool! Can't wait to find out what happened between her & Orbie....
 
And they have each other's names tatted on themselves. I hope it works itself out. I really dig that chick. I'd try to make her my girlfriend if I was bi :laughing:

Three of my wedding pictures from 92' ~ I've gained weight and my hair is straight and almost always put up in a ponytail because of the fibro...but I basically look the same in the face! I don't change a lot! The other is my husband, Jimmie, who hasn't changed any except for a little bit of hair loss! I also had been sick and had a place on my lip :cussing:

hey If I put my wedding picture up you wouldn't even recognize me. I was platinum blonde, and really skinny.

That is why my pictures are as tall as I am ~ lol! I can't resize...I had to have champ teach me how to do this or I wouldn't have gotten these on here...of course you can see every hair on my head!

Thanks also...I still love my dress and hair...my bouquet is a sign of the times ~lol! That thing weighed as much as I did! It was so funny...I don't think I have any picture that you can see the front of my dress because of the size of my flowers! Look at those shoulder pads :laughing:

Tell your husband I want his hair!!! It is so pretty...just don't tell him I said pretty! He might not like that! :laughing:

Tammy those are some great pictures :crazytongue: and celtics posted her tats before and are very interesting especially the tat on the back, I remember the posts about tats a while back.
 
I liked shoulder pads. Because they made everyone look like me! :laughing: I look like I am wearing them even when I am not, and I have hair that looks like I am in a 80s metal band without any hairspray or back-combing. I love to see 80s and 90s fashion come back because the look is so easy for me to do! :laughing:

Oh, I tease Wayne all the time about how jealous I am of his hair. It is super thick, wavy, and strong, and grows like a weed. I had just cut it for him in that picture. I have to cut it for him when it gets so long he starts sitting on it, which happens about every 3 months.

The kitty there is Lugh. Short for Lucifer, although that wasn't the original intention. He is the smartest, most diabolical, bizarre, and somehow still cute little weirdo. He pins down my Persian (pic in my avatar) and rips the fur out of his glorious mane. The poor persian has half a mane because of that jealous naughty little bugger!
 
I didn't think the picture in your avatar was real...I swear! I thought you had gotten it off a site...it doesn't look like a real cat ~ lol!

Jimmie's hair grows straight up! It is so curly! It is so pretty though ~ jet black! I really thought that the girls would have black hair, but I guess my lighter hair with his black and we got brown! Both have really pretty brown hair though.

I LOVE the 80's...music, fashion, everything. To me nothing touches it. I miss it and wish it would all come back so I understand perfectly!!
 
Tiff - :sunny: Yep, we do donate his hair. They are always glad to see him! I, on the other hand, look like I need a donation myself! Nothing to donate here, my hair doesn't grow worth a darn! :cry:


Ping1970 - LOL! Yeah, that was one of those lucky "one in a million" pics. Here is a more recent one that shows his sparkling personality... :laughing:

As you can see, his mane is trashed! The worst part is that when Lugh rips it out, he eats it! So he gets massive awful hairballs. Lugh has also made it so I cannot have any flowers or plants in the house. He will go to any extreme to hunt them down, eat them, and puke them everywhere! He even scaled a floor to ceiling bookcase to get to a dozen roses, knocked them off onto the bed, spilling water everywhere and barfed rose petals all over my pillow! :cry:

I guess it's no wonder my old Persian looks so grumpy...

LMBO ~ I just got my laugh for the night! He looks so happy...but some cats just naturally look like that...he is very regal looking ~ you can tell him I said so! I just lost my kitty...he was an outside cat and he disappeared about a couple of weeks ago... I miss him so much. His name was Fuzzy McNasty. And he was a talker!!! Oh my gosh, that cat thought he was carrying on a conversation all the time and would get so mad at me for not understanding!! I still have two cats ~ Angel and Albie. When I feel like I can I am going to the shelter and get a couple of kittens.
 
OMG I don't usually like long hair on men but biker babe, your hubby's hair is so pretty! :love: I love your grumpy looking cat and I don't even like cats LOL And a cat with PICA, who knew? :laughing:

Pretty Ping. You and hubby look like the perfect couple. His hair is just as lovely as Biker Babe's hubby :laughing: My hubby has jet black, thinning hair as well. I always tell him with his looks no one's looking at his hair :laughing:
