I was informed by a member that their computer was infected by a virus from Womans World
magazine online sweepstakes. Its hard to confirm if the virus actually came from WW but just wanted
to post a quick note about this.

If you receive any virus alerts from your anti-virus software when visiting any websites you
should allow your anti-virus software to protect you from the threat. If you don't have anti
virus software you can get a copy of AVG free here:

That happened to me too when I was entering the Woman's World sweep for the red wagon. My anti-virus system caught it though, and it has not happened since as far as I can tell

I also got a virus a few days ago when I was doing the woman's world contests but was luckily able to get it removed with my anti-virus programs. I haven't tried entering their contests since then so I don't know if it's still a problem or not.

...I didn't get a virus alert, but the last two days when trying to enter them my IE completely shut down, didn't happen today though.

oooo weird!! So far, nothing happened but then again, I forgot to update MY antivirus defs for two weeks!!!!! I have to do it manually for some reason- really old system I have here! I keep hoping to win a brand new computer some day with one of these contests! I think I shall do a scan now!

 Be very careful! If you get a virus warning, make sure it's your antivirus that catches it, and not something that pops up out of nowhere. Even if it says Microsoft, it could be a hoax. If it's real, your antivirus should be the first to catch it. Just make sure you're up to date. Also, if you're looking for a free antivirus, Avira Antivir Personal comes highly recommended. It's a 33 megabyte down load. Keep on having fun!! Bill B

OMG the same thing happened to me.... For approx. the past couple weeks every time I try to enter their contests, my anti virus starts beeping and denying access.....I just started skipping that one, because it is too dangerous....

I usually enter these everyday ... but around xmas I missed a couple of days. (Just about the time you are all referring to.)

No problems for me ... but I noticed the "little red wagon" is gone before it's appointed time.

Hmmmm, my computer is in the shop as we speak due to a virus that I just couldn't get rid of. I had AVG and it actually became infected. I'm using the free Microsoft Security Suite now but apparently that's not gonna cut it either. My kids are forever more banned from myspace. I think that's where many of my problems are coming from. I'm using Norton on my new laptop so hopefully it is bullet proof!

I did not get any warning but I usually don't I think. I use Symantec corporate for security along w/another one Mcafee I think....I use automatic updates w/the one and I have an automatic full scan every sun pm and have not been shown I have any virus'. I have no real tech knowledge on this subject so I dont know what to do as I too eneter womens world every day.....and have been all week. any suggestions? Or do u think I am ok as I have automatic updates and I believe whenever I had a virus in the past I did get a notice that it went to quaratine or was able to be rid of it but it would stay in the virus #'s acct. to let me know there had been one and I havent been notified of one in ions...which now makes me more nervous that I think of it.....

I use Norton Antivirus 2010. It costs around $30 per year for the updates. I use norton because it does not slow down my system as much as the others. I recommend Norton for people who have kids.
