Massage Envy

Be prepared to feel totally violated after leaving....hehehehe.

Massages, done correctly, won't leave you feeling violated. I've had lots of massages. I've gone to a male and a female. The massage therapist SHOULD do their best to make you feel at ease and allow you leave on as much clothing as you feel comfortable with. A lot of the places now have not stone massages, which wouldn't require any touching (if you aren't comfortable with that) and is very relaxing. Pamper yourself, enjoy. You only live once.

I had a guy and I gota tell you I think he did more damage than good. I mean my muscles ache more now than when I went in lol. I didn't have a problem with the touching me I just was not impressed.

I had an hour long massage by a female about a month ago and it felt great. The only part I didn't like was when she got to my feet. I'm very ticklish on my feet. The rest of the massage was great though. She used some kind of massage oil that had a blend of essential oils in it.

I had the hour long massage also but I was just disapointed. Hope if I go again I will have a better time.

That's a bummer. Sry it wasn't awesome! One thing the guy always tells me is to drink lots of water afterwards because the massage releases alot of toxins into your system.

Yep that's what the guy told me and I said I usually drink about a gallon of water a day but when I woke up I felt like I had just had a workout. All my back was stiff. Hey you're guys name wasn't Tyler was it

OK well I went and it wasn't as good as I expected. I mean honestly I think my husband does a better job. One time I had a massage in the mall. You know in the center of the mall well it was a 20 minute massage done by a chineese woman and man that massage was great. I did feel so relaxed but today I was disappointed. Maybe it was just me but I was not impressed.

I went to a reflexologist who does shiatsu also - I felt great for at least a month afterwards!!! I have fibro, and a messed up back, so I can really tell the difference!!! She also got my sinus pain to abate!!!

I got the 1 1/2 hour package, and it was NOT cheap, but well worth it!!!

I saw her twice, and another girl filled in on another visit - she did NOT do a good job - I was in pain and sick to my stomach for at least 3 days afterwards :cussing:

So it really DOES depend on the therapist - maybe you had a newbie/bad one?

They do this at day spas? I've been in physical therapy for what they claim is a knotted over-compensating muscle in my lower back that causes me severe pain at times, and physical therapy just relieves it--not much else.

No idea - never been to one! My mom was referred to this "group" - they are in an office building, next to a hospital - no affiliation to the hospital as far as I know though?

Maybe try searching for a reflexologist in your area - a chiropractor can do much of the same things, just not as pleasantly

OK so this past Sunday I went to the mall and had a masdsage from these Chinese who actually know what they are doing. It was great I was definitely impressed. The massage envy place was just having a small back rub. These guys know exactly where to hit the pressure points and they use their fingers. :)

I had an absolutely great 2 1/2 hours. The spa was holistics, dimmed lights, candles, aromatherapy, and all-natural, organic, herbal products. I chose a deep-tissue message for chronic pain, etc. That type of massage is definitely not for everyone. It requires digging in and kneading of the muscles. Despite that, I was still dozing off. With that type of message, you will feel it in the muscles a little afterwards.

Cin, what kind of message did you pick out; because it sounds like you may have had the same type of message as I did.

I love deep tissue massages but this guy didn't do any of the kneading or digging. It was more like a gentle backrub. I have had good massages in the mallat one of those little shops.

Glad you had a nice time.
