2009 HGTV Home Giveaway

This one, I'm not sure I'm going to enter it for. Looking at the neighborhood they built this in, it's very displaced which would effect the selling price and might actually make it harder to sell.

I wonder how they came up with this location. It's like they went from one extreme in location to another!

Click on "Tour" and take a look at the homes across the street. Nice home though!LOL

I want to win it, then post that I turned it down-imagine the havoc!:crazytongue:

(actually, I'd donate it to the Oley Foundation)

The way the market is you would have a hard time selling it no matter the location. I dont think the neighborhood looks bad. I hope more people feel the that way... give me a better shot at it.

nah, I like the midwest.. I gotta have the change of seasons. I would put it up for sale. I wouldnt have to have fair market value.

I would love to see someone like you win champ.. Atleast I know if you won there would be a little excitement, unlike the last winner.. :sleepy:

Hmmm, neighborhood looks fine to me - certainly better than the one we live in here in Texas.

I'll probably enter, but I miss the days when they gave extra prizes like cash and gift cards. I can't even sell the guitar I won; I wonder what selling a house in CA would be like!

Ohhh momma of 3 ......... i couldn't even begin to imagine how i would react... i'd prolly faint, wake up and scream... run around and immediately lool for a drink...

I don't see anything wrong with the neighborhood. Just seems to be a typical older middleclass kind of area. They wouldn't have to whoop me with a silly-stick in order to get me to take it! :crazytongue:

I loved the one in North Carolina ~ up in the mountain range! I have to say that was my dream home!! It was just to B I G!!!

Ping, that place is literally two houses over from our friend's cabin. DH sees it every time he is at lake lure. I like Joe's cabin better because it is smaller and more rustic, but it has the same view.

Well, you tell your friend that I am in love with their view and that they have my dream house! I couldn't imagine living in that monster house, but I might could have had my arm twisted ~ lol! I'm sure I would have lost it just like the winner did though!

we watched the program that aired tonight showcasing the house. none of us were too crazy about the interior design. or the location. I liked the log cabin one they had a couple of years ago.

I'll enter it, doubt i'll win,
but, can't win it if your not in it.

I watched it last night. It's kinda funny that all of these homes are obviously built for Yuppies without kids. The kids rooms are always for two little kids who have to share and one little guest bedroom with a huge waste of space elsewhere.

Gave me some ideas for the new home we have to build in California when the wildfires destroyed ours a few months ago.
