American Idol

Amanda looked like a werewolf with that hair(I need a scary as heck smiley here!!!) She really needed to go home after the performance the other night ~ it was terrible!

I like Carly and Syesha in the girls and of course, David A. in the boys ~ good grief ~ 3 David's and 2 Jason's ~ thank goodness one of them is going to be family soon or I wouldn't never get their names right :laughing:

A recap of this week's AI girls:

Carly Smithson: very nice performance. She rocked w/Heart's "Crazy On You";

Syesha Mercado: good performance, but vocals were rather weak;

Brooke White: very nice performance, singing "Your So Vain" by Carly Simon.

Ramiele Malubay: decent performance. I liked her song choice, but her vocals should have been stronger. She's really pretty!

Kristy Lee Cook: belted out a nice song -- fits here voice style. "Your No Good", by Linda Ronstadt;

Amanda Overmyer: my biker/rocker babe! :headbang: Ooh...not a good song choice tonight. Her voice didn't cut it, although I liked her enthusiasm. She sang Kansas' "Carry On My Wayward Son".

Alaina Whitaker: good performance. Nice song choice; her song was "Hopelessly Devoted" by Olivia Newton John...her voice could have been stronger...she is very attractive!

Alexandrea' Lushington: good performance; a bit pitchy in places.

Kady Malloy: bad song choice; vocals were weak and off-tune; the gospel-toned background singers clashed with the rock song "Magic Man", by Heart...

Asia'H Epperson: nice performance; weak vocals during the first part of the song; she got better during the last half of the song. She sang Celine Dion's "All By Myself".

Now, as for the contestants kicked off the show this week:

* Jason Yeager
* Alexandrea Lushington
* Alaina Whitaker
* Robbie Carrico

Bye-bye guys! We hardly knew ye. Actually, I suppose we actually heard too much from you all... :laughing:

Thanks for the update!

P.S. Evidently Simon will not be back next season. He has been reported as saying that Idol is paying him more money than this season Not To Return.

I think this may hurt the show's popularity.

That will KILL the show! Simon is the backbone of the whole thing ~ I thought he just signed a five year contract though at the end of last season :scratch: :scratch:

I've been watching AI Rewind of Season 2 ~ that is my favorite AI ever with Rueben, Clay, Ricky Smith, and Josh Gracin! I am recording all of them on my TIVO so I can keep them. That was the season with Kimberly Locke, Trenence, and that poor Carmen that sang like a billy goat :whistle:

Oh yeah, That drove me crazy. baaaaaaaahhhhhh, Baaaaaaaahhhhhhh.....

Drove me nuts because Simon liked her :scratch:

I LOVED David Cook tonight ~ I can't believe it ~ when I heard him begin "Hello" I cringed! But I was so pleased ~ definately my favorite of the night!

Still love my other David also though :love:

I think Luke made a bad mistake tonight...not really sure who else I think it will be. I know the judges liked Jason's version of the song off of Shrek, but I think he might be the other one.

I loved michael. perfect song for him. and david rocked hello!!! :headbang: I think luke is going home. thanks to him I kept seeing george michael in those little shorts. ewwwww... yes, I remember the video. :laughing: and im not sure who else. I dont like david hernandez but he was pretty good last night.

Was it us or did the australian guy skip/make up words in his song?

Me and my wife looked at each other and were like "He Messed Up" . Then the judges were like "Great Job" !

Were they listening or were they reading cue cards?

:whistle:

Lmfao Ping... That was soo funny, what u said.. I bursted out laughing here at my desk... I hated that hair too

Now you can have your own David!!

Nope! I have a David...he is called David Archuletta! Such a sweetie-pie, a honey bear...I want to just have his baby! :crazytongue: Of course, since young David is only 17 years old, he could cause me all sorts of legal problems (child abuse and all that rot).

Recap of the guys:

Luke Menard: sang "Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go) by Wham!...a decent performance, though certainly not the best from him.

David Archultetta: sang "Another Day In Paradise" by Phil Collins...nice vocals; good song performance. Simon called the song depressing...LOL. Young David has the softest looking lips and deep, dark eyes to drown in.

Danny Noriega: sang "Tainted Love", by Soft Cell...his rendition was interesting, as he rocked the song up a bit, and provided some sass/attitude to go along with the song. Love him!

David Hernandez: nice performance; good vocals, strong voice. Handsome as hell.

Micheal Johns: didn't like his song choice; wasn't that good.

David Cook: sang "Hello" by Lionel Richie...nice performance. He rocked out the song a bit w/his electric guitar; nice rendition.

John Castro: wow! Nice song -- the song was spooky, gave me goose bumps with it's beauty. The song was "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley. John has a smooth voice and the song was beautiful. He still needs to lose the dreadlocks...yeck!

Chikezie: good performance; strong vocals. He sang "You Fill Me Up" by Whitney Houston.

Girls recap:

Asia'H Epperson: sang "I Want To Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston; nice performance; good job!

Katey Malloy: sang a lesser-known Queen song; decent performance, nice vocals;

Amanda Overmyer: nice job! Good song choice. Simon really loved it.

Carly Smithson: a nice, strong rock performance; strong vocals

Kristy Lee Cook: sang "Faithfully" by Journey. Nice performance, good voice; she gave the song a nice country lilt.

Ramiele Mulubay: sang "Take A Look At Me Now"; performance was so-so; voice could have been stronger.

Brooke White: sang "Love Is A Battlefield" by Pat Benatar. Nice slower rendition of the song; good job.

Syesha Mercado: sang "I'm Saving All My Love For You" by Whitney Houston. Good performance, nice voice.
=====================================================================================

Okay, the girls just are not as good as the guys this season. Last nights show was just so-so...not a lot of excitement there.

As much as it pains me to say it ~ Amanda did a good job last night ~ werewolf was gone, she looked much better!! Thank goodness!!

I loved Brooke's version of "Love is a Battlefield" ~ I sometimes have trouble when I loved the original so much, but I really liked this one also ~ just like "Hello" the night before!

I think Asia'H will leave us tonight and am torn between Ramiele and Katey ~ but I will go with Ramiele.

I really thought that his version of "Hallelujah" would go over most of the teenyboopers heads and that he might be voted out...I am so glad that he is still in!

Looking forward to tonight...Jimmie is on 2nds so I don't have to fight for the TV :headbang:

I LOVED David Cook again this week! He is just really, really good...also liked Carly. Have to say I loved Chikezie again...and yes, I know my SIL David messed up, but he will be better next week!

Poor Kristy Lee Cook...that was terrible! I think she will be the one to go this week!
