Anyone do heels?

I wear them once in a great while. I am a jeans and tshirt type of girl but, like to dress different when I go out. I have a very cute pair of black heel sandles and some boots with heels. I really want a pair of knee high black boots with heels.

Those are cute BTW.

Damn, Johnny, high jack my damn thread why don't ya! If you find any cute ones, let me know, though

Hubby is 6'7". I haven't worn anything with even the slightest heel since our youngest was born and that was to a funeral!

Pointy toe roach killers!!! LMFAO!!!!!!

If your hubby is that tall, go for the heels!

Like Pam said, the most important thing is to practice. Honestly, find a cheap pair of heels and wear them. Wear them everywhere until you are comfortable in heels.

When you get a new pair of heels, make sure you scuff up the bottom soles. Nothing is worse than hitting a slick floor with new heels. You'll look like a baffoon for sure!

Heels are great. If you go with those heels and you really want to do something girly, consider some dressy capri's. Personally, I am short and Capris end up looking like pants on me, so I avoid them like the plague, but on a nice, tall woman, they are sharp.

There are some great "girly" blouses and tops out there this season. Bold prints are in this season. YUCK! But, since you are not a girly girl, they may make you a little more comfortable and offer the girly feel.

Hope this helps. Strappy heels definitely make you feel girly. If you are going girly, do the spa thing and get a pedicure. That will definitely complete the look for you.

Have fun shopping!

Hey completelyme -you have the self-confidence to wear ANYTHING and make it work for you!

That is SO true...she could wear a potato sack and work it!! I use to have that kind of confidence but not now...to much extra weight! Looking forward to losing this mess!!

You guys are so damn sweet

Wolfie, I hate bold prints  but I get what you are saying. I was just talking to Mother and she suggested capris as well which I love BTW.

What I REALLY love are cleavage-bearing, blouses. I like the corsets too. I've been pondering this one:

That would be for going out in only. NOT for going to our sons' ballgames :booty"

I do do my own manis and pedis. My cousin does them professionally and she showed me how to do everything. I get my hair done at a salon. I get a spiral perm about 3 times a year. You'd think all of this girly dressing would follow suit and come naturally to me but it doesn't.

Ladies, ever try something on at the store, like it, buy it, bring it home, put it on, and hate the way you look in it? I do this ALL of the time!

That is the cutest shirt ~ EVER!!! What is that in??? I just love it. I would love to be able to dress like that again!

I love the capris also...I am so short that they look weird on me also, but I don't care! I am wearing them anyway!

 That shirt is very pretty!! Get it!!

The strappy sandals were very nice, too!

I am a jeans and capris girl. I am at the point that I will only wear heels if they are
naturlizer, aerosoles, with cushy comfort and no more than 2 in.

I forgot how to walk in heels because I only wear them 1-2 x year.

That, my friends, is a $78 Victoria's Secret corset, on sale for $69 LMAO!
I couldn't justify buying it myself, but hubby saw me looking at it and he really liked it(and/or the model )

The largest size is a 12-14  I don't know why VS doesn't make bigger tops/blouses. Most of their stuff is sexy-hot, made for showing some skin, but they don't seem to keep us bigger chested ladies in mind. I have a really hard time finding their bras in my size already. I hate finding a really pretty blouse/top that I adore, only to not be able to get it because it doesn't come big enough LOL

VS does not make larger sizes becuase they do not want "fat women in ow clothes. "

That was told to me by someone in the company who is higher up. My sister would never shop there becuase of that.

I worked in textiles and dealt wtih fashion folks quite a bit.

Being gay and work in the fashion industry.

I'm sure that shocks all of you :crazytongue:

The way I feel about that is that I may be bigger now, but that is temporary! My decision not to shop there will be permanent! I don't care how small I get I won't be shopping there...makes me so mad!!!

Oh, and by the way gorgor you could work anywhere and I wouldn't be surprised! You seem so intelligent and friendly...I don't care if you are purple with pink polka spots!!

I'm really not that fat, I promise LOL! I'm 5'10" and 175 pounds. I am plus size, however, but no Rosie O'Donnell. And for the record, not saying that Rosie is hideous. Just trying to give you a comparison.

OK, so my problem in general is finding tops/blouses/shirts/bras that fit well because of my chest. Sure, I can go to Wal-Mart and find something that fits but it is usually not my style or something I would find attractive when considering tops/blouses/shirts. No, I think I'll pass on the shirt with huge polka dots.

It's just really too bad more higher end stores won't take that into consideration.

Have you tried Fredrick's of Hollywood? I got a really nice 'bigger' bra there...really nice! They have some really cute stuff and maybe they will cater to a larger busted woman in there clothes as well!

I also LOVE that top! Wow!..It's something I would wear except I would definetly need some straps to hold it up. I'm afraid to wear something that might come down or I have to keep adjusting or pulling up. No sense in showing "the girls" in public, lol.......I have one similar that is white with black trim and a black satin ribbon belt. If I take the belt off it isn't so dressy and I can wear it anytime, not just for going out. There are alot of cute tops at Kohls too, so you might try looking at their online store......they are made well and much cheaper than VS.......there is a BIG sale at Kohls right now.......check it out and this is the top I bought

Also check out Dillards.......they have loads of cute shoes.

these are the Born Crown shoes and SUPER COMFY and the soles are cushioned. They are a little pricey but worth it as they are soooo comfortable and made to last and last and last.

I bought these in hot pink and LOVE them....they are easy to walk in and the soles are padded..I wear them with jeans, dresses and capris.

Anyway, I say save $$$ on the top and splurge on the shoes!.....Good luck and let me know what you think.

Go for the strapy heels and that sexy top. Hubby will love it and he may even clean that belly button for you.

I am 5 2 and can use all the height I can get. I think men love strapy heels. Go for them johnny.

I love the shirt...but would be scared to death to wear those shoes ~lol!!!

Since my surgery I wear size 24 denim jumpers to keep from putting any pressure on my abdomen. I can also pull my arms and head in, fold the top down and camp for the night, if I need to  And the only shoes I've found I really like are these size 9W white tennis shoes they have at Walmart. I have 10 pairs (they are $7 and wear out in a hurry) and buy more whenever I see them. Talk about anti-fashion :crazytongue:
If you're into sexy undies...this is a British company that has the hotest ads....

Hi ping........really , those shoes are so easy to walk in. I see you too are trying to lose weight. Since my neck was broken last January I have been mostly sitting at my pc and not getting much exercise except what I was allowed to do for phys. therapy. Needless to say, I have gained 10 pounds! (omg).....My neck is healed now and I'm going back to work maybe on May 10th so am able to work out now. I usually walk at work on break for 30 mins and had just lost 12 pounds in 2 months and firmed up right before Christmas. I walk at a steady pace but have since read online to walk at a steady pace then kick it up to a fast pace for awhile then go back to a steady pace. This burns more fat and calories and you lose weight faster. This is what I am starting soon. Right now I'm working out at home doing aerobics to a Joss Stone video "Tell Me 'Bout It" and riding an exercise bike. You may know the song, it's a fast paced jazzy soul song and you can really kick it up and get a good workout......anyway, it would be great to have a workout buddy for support.
