I hate "both parties" but I Like guvnah Palin and will vote for that team. I refuse to vote for anyone that is as anti pro life as the one side is. Before she came on the ticket I was planning on holding my nose and voting but I am more enthusiastic now. I did like Bob Barr ALOT only he doesnt have a chance so I vote my values first and then other things.

I feel the same way but on the opposite end of the spectrum. I refuse to vote for a candidate that is so anti pro-choice. You've most likely have read my argument(s) on this issue so I will spare you the reiteration

LOL@ holding your nose and voting. My sentiments exactly.

I just don't care about Lipstick. Don't wear it, can't stand the taste of it, hate the way it leaves an imprint on a glass... Hate the stuff.

Isn't it ridiculous in a race for the "Most Powerful" job in the world, they spend so much time on a stupid comment. Isn't it insulting that they have dumbed down campaigns to this level as if we are not intelligent enough to understand the issues we face. Or is it that they are trying to confuse us with idiocracy in an attempt to hide the fact that the Presidency is just a face of the US that costs us millions of dollars a year for him to make public appearances.

Americans are dumb. We have allowed the government to take away our rights under the guise of protecting us from terrorism. We have allowed our elected officials to take the choice of candidates away from us, the people. What is next? As the former Communist Countires become more democratic, we become more what they were? We are blindly following what we are told. But, when the time comes for us to make a change, we get fed Lipstick blurbs over and over and over.

Honestly, I don't care that a candidates daughter is pregnant out of wedlock. I don't care if they have a gay child. I don't care if they filed bankruptcy. I really don't care what a candidate or their wife/husband is wearing to an event or interview. I care about the experience of the person running and what they have supported and how they have voted. That shows me what they are about.

In my opinion, as long as Condy Rice is gone, this country will be a safer place. That woman scares me.

What she said!

...and, in case anyone has forgotten or doesn't know this, the United States is a republic, not a democracy. What's even worse than calling the United States a democracy is that Karl Marx a famous communist is the one who penned the term "democracy".

LOL I don't wear lipstick either but boy I sure love living in this country and hope we don't become a socialist communist government.

It's a shame we have so many things to work on but somehow I have faith in our country. We all have to work together to make this still the best place to live. No matter what your political affiliations.

Back on the subject of Palin, I just found this at another site. Don't click if you have a problem with a cartoonish-like womanly character flipping the bird!!

Palin charges rape victims for rape kit

http://www.feministing.com/archives/010930.html

Multiple readers clued us into the latest incredibly disappointing fact about Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin: under her mayoral leadership in Wasilla, Alaska, rape victims were charged for their own rape kits.

Seriously. Who does she think she is? Charging rape victims for the rape kits? Really?? How insensitive, crass, and utterly appalling. And a bunch of other unmentionables :cussing:

 You would not imagine the stuff I have read about Obama. It will make you do more than shake your head. As a community organizer he had a lot of experience in corrupt politics. I won't even bother posting any links because there is just too much and what good does it do. Just that same old dirty politics.

all I can say is wow.. Some of her policies both as mayor and governor just make me shake my head.

I am starting to do more than shake my head. I am starting to dislike her personally. Don't care about her daughter having a baby out of wedlock. Heck, I did. Don't care about her having a newborn and trying to balance motherhood and a working career. Again, so am. Those types of things I do not care about nor should anyone else(only my opinion-shoot me). But being a woman herself and charging rape victims for rape kits is...well...the words escape me. Atrocious isn't strong enough a word. Disgusting is too nice. I already used appalling. Someone feel free to help me out

A slap in the face to all Rape victims. :nono: I think its odd. I mean you dont charge victims of other crimes for things like collecting evidence. why rape victims.

As some of you may know I was on one of the most liberal forum political sites and believe me this kind of mud slinging from both campaigns can get pretty bad. I kept up with the best of those forums and I saw and still see so much hateful attacks on this woman that all it is doing is turning people more away from Obama.

Sarah Palin may be disliked by the left liberals but regardless she has a lot of supporters and she has a high approval rating from her state. As long as anyone wants to keep the focus on her that is keeping the focus off the issues.

I started this thread to find out what people think of the first woman VP pick and of course there are two sides as always. I think I have voiced my opinion more than enough on her and I have to say I am glad she is on the ticket. I won't do any mud slinging on the Dem. nominee as it is nonproductive. May the best man win POTUS.

I dont think its mud slinging at all. Its not a hateful attack. She did do that. I want to know everything about a candidate .. Their policies. There opinions, views, etc... It helps make a informed decision. And I think that is an issue. She could be making policy. how is it not important to know the policies she made while as mayor or governor. If she did something great it would be ok.. but dont mention the negative stuff she did. I think its just as important as her views on the environment, education, the war... It shows how she thinks. Where her mind is at.

Obama isn't perfect. He has made bad choices as well. They are human after all. I have read some of the things obama has said and done.. He has flipped flop his fair share of times and I want to know that too.

Tracy it becomes mudslinging when the media and anyone else keep looking for something negative on the candidates. I could post negative things that your candidate did and yes he did do them but it only keeps the mud slinging. All politicians have skeletons in their closet and sure we may base our voteing decision on some of these decisions that the candidates made but what I want to know is what are they going to do for this country?

I guess what I am saying is if you look hard enough you will find dirt on anyone. I am not voting against Obama because of what he did or didn't do I am voting against him because of what he can't do IMO.

I am guessing you have already made your mind up about not voting for McCain so none of the mudslinging against her will matter to you. We all have to vote our conscience that's for sure.

That is true. But I like the adage.. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.. and since no one really knows.. yet. what she plans on doing we can only go by past behavior.

Seriously, It doesn't matter to me one way or another how someone else votes. I'm voting my conscience. period. I don't see how discussing what a candidate has stood for is a problem.

some of the things considered mudslinging arent IMO.. considering Im totally for womens rights I want to know where she stands on that issue. It is an issue to me. An important one. How will her views affect me and other women.

No. It's not a hateful attack or mud-slinging. And I don't think I could have worded it better, Trace. As a candidate for VP, it most certainly pertains to what she can do for this country. Knowing she charged rape victims for rape kits scares the heck outta me, saddens me, makes me mad, etc. from a personal stand point, but it also foreshadows what this country will be like if her and McCain are elected.

I have to admit that when I first heard of Obama I was like Obama who? I did and do everything I can to educate myself on who he is, what he's about, and what he can do for this country. I have read his autobiographies, I have done vast research on what he has done as a politician, I have talked to others who know of his work and know more about him than I do. I've left no stone unturned. I want to also point out that he may not have as much as experience as others or on the same level as others but I do think he's experienced enough to know what this country needs. And in my opinion it is NOT another Bush nor a candidate such as Palin. We want change. We ain't gonna get it with McCain and Palin, people. And that's not being a smartypants or attacking anyone. To me, it's simply reality.

well I care because she is up for VP of this country. Just because im not voting mccain/palin doesnt mean I should not educate myself on what they stand for.

Just curious because I really don't care about Obama because it doesn't affect my voting decission.
