What do you guys think of her? Now I am not starting a political thread. Just curious as to what anyone thinks of her. I think she is a very admirable woman and a great pick for VP.

Re: Govenor Sarah Palin

 I totally agree with the selection! She is exactly what we need.

Re: Govenor Sarah Palin

IMO I think its a ploy to get disgruntled Clinton supporters to vote for McCain. Especially when you consider the good ole boy attitude of McCain. We are screwed no matter who gets elected. Obama does not have the experience needed and frankly, the man makes me nervous. McCain would have all women being seen and not heard. And Palin is no friend to women either. :nono:

I watched her acceptance of the nomination and was favorably impressed. This has been a very interesting election overall. Whatever your preference, I encourage everyone to get out and vote in November!

I'm ready to run for the hills myself. I really don't feel comfortable with any of these people. I like McCain as a person and think he did a wonderful job defending our country in battle, but I am not comfortable with him as president. Also, I don't think that Obama will make a good president either. I think the next four years are looking very, very grim for our economy and our country no matter who gets in...

I think I might as well vote for Mr. Ed...it will mean about as much ~ well, I guess after the last two fiascos of elections it will matter just as much anyway. I used to think that it mattered to vote, and I always do, but I have to say that I have a much different outlook on the elections now than eight years ago!

I think she will get quite a bit of the Hillary voters but I am just impressed with the fact that she does seem to be more concerned with the people than just dirty politics. And she's got that hunting and fishing thing down  She's more like regular folks and I do believe that will appeal to a lot of voters.

My mom was a Hillary supporter and she will be voting McCain now. I will be voting McCain but that was before Palin was the VP pick. I agree we just need to get out there and vote no matter who we support because we need to do our part :)

I can say that she is the package deal when it comes to conservatives.

yep! right there with ya. Mr. Ed huh? wonder what his views are on global warming  I don't feel comfortable not voting so I have some thinking to do. This recent VP pick has moved me one step closer to choosing though. I don't like Obama but..... his views more closely resemble mine. That's the main thing isn't it. I cant in good conscience vote for some one who's views I find....... whats a nice word? distasteful?

I would say that is a good way to vote for the candidate you want in office :) If we agree with their views that's a good place to start.

I know nothing about her, and the biggest corporations in the country back BOTH candidates. That there speaks volumes. If no other candidates are on the ballot, we're writing in our choice who we already picked. No one is forced to vote democrat or republican. I'd rather vote my conscience, and not care if others may think I'm wasting my vote. Maybe, if everyone did that, we wouldn't keep getting idiots in the White House.

Here you go - no need to write in a pick: Bob Barr - the Libertarian Party nominee :headbang:

Our guy speaks out against abortions, against outcome-based education (the deliberate dumbing down of America), for religious rights, etc. He's not perfect, but he comes as close to sharing our views and beliefs than anyone else has; and I believe that's what's important in voting--not making sure the democrat doesn't get in or the republican doesn't get in. In that situation, in the end, you end up with the same poo.

Exactly LDS - to me, it's all become about the candidate, not the platform/issues. Like american idol gone horribly awry!!! :nono:

IMHO, when it becomes about the person, not the office/platform/issues you end up with people who wanted Hilary voting for McCain out of spite and McCain nominating Palin in a cynical attempt to garner votes. It makes my head spin!!! :cussing:

Whatever happened to hippies and protests?

I believe that both main candidates, being both backed by the same largest corporations in America, equates to working for Corporate America, not the people.

All their debating, campaigning, etc., that they show on television, to me, is nothing more than a performance. They're all poo!

Is it any wonder we don't watch much television here anymore! I used to get so angry listening to all the poo coming out of their mouths! :crazytongue:

 I suppose there is a lot of something coming from their mouths. I just look at it this way. Sense these 2 are our only choices because it's one or the other getting elected. I have to vote for who I think will be the best choice. I know none of them are perfect but being a conservative republican I am voting my party. I think that's what we have to do really. Just vote for whomever is closest to your views. Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air compared to some politicians

I am a registered democrat with conservative views so I never just vote party. I never could and my family never could understand it ~ my sister, Karen and I both are black sheep in the family in that way. Even though it might not stand for anything in the long run, we want our vote to mean something at least to us. We have to be able to lay our heads on the pillow at night and sleep :crazytongue:

This is totally off the subject (imagine that ), but why is there a cow down by the spell check option? Does anyone know?

I'm very conservative but no longer view the Republicans as conservatives and no longer call myself same. I simply call myself a conservative. I view the Democrats and Republicans as in the same boat while trying to make us believe they're not. Party names mean nothing. Politicians have been known to jump back and forth going where the popularity was as easily as changing their pants.

As a bumper sticker that I saw one time in South Carolina says, "I love my country, it's the government I'm afraid of"; or Frank Zappa singing about the slime that pours out of your tv set. I think they're a bunch of liars and walking out of a church with a bible in their hand doesn't prove them to be a Christian or even a good one at that, it just proves to be a good photo opp! :crazytongue:

I've never thought of a cow when I've thought of a smart animal...Spelling BEE maybe, cow ~ no

Cows just eat and poo. Notice that "poo" is my word for the day!LOL

Use it while you can. I use to use the word "toot" all the time, well, now my kids have replaced it with another word that I don't like at all that don't sound so mellow
