Instant Win Games

I have been doing sweepstakes for over thirty years and most of my wins now come from instant wins. Most times I hit on 15 to 20 IWS a month.Winning instants is all a matter of timing. It does not matter how you play any game shown on instants. In fact many times I have heard the sound that I had what turned out to be a winning email before I finished playing the game.

I have not been hitting anything - not instant wins or regular sweeps. I don't know what's going on. I've been doing this for about 10 years and have never won anything major. It kinda' bums me out when I see a newb win something huge. I've actually been thinking about quitting.

The sweeps with “major” prizes attract the most entrants. That’s why the rules show the odds of winning for these sweeps to be right up there with the Lottery.

Not to dash your hopes, but the odds being what they are, most of us aren’t going to win a major prize. How many people do you know who've won the lottery? Small prizes sure, but you probably don't know anyone who's won a big one. That's because there's so few of 'em.

Those of us who stick with it, as you have done for 10 years probably stand a better chance due to the exposure to a lot of sweeps over an extended time frame.

Hang in there, you never know, the sweeps gods could smile on you (or me) tomorrow.

I love IW maybe its just the immediate "gratification" if you will, but they are my favorite plus you never know if today is going to be your lucky day!

I love the IWs, too. It's like having your own private slot machine where you get one free pull every day, and now and then you win stuff; but like regular gambling, the most fun is in the 'action' not the winning. I also enter all the ones with a lot of little "nothing" prizes. It's fun getting free stuff in the mail, then at Christmas I wrap up a basket full of 'grab bag' gifts (hats, key chains, t-shirts, etc.) for everybody to pick one or two. It's a big hit and great fun for all. My best one so far this year is going to be a nice little box, that I'm going to wrap up, that came containing 1 roll of toilet paper!
If you fixate on the winning of sweeps and not the fun of entering, then it just becomes a job that doesn't pay very well.

I'm soooooooooooo stealing that line!!! :p

Do you trust instant win games? Or do you think they're rigged? Are they just a waste of time?

Depends on the sponsor on how they run their promo, but yeah, they will tell you in their rules how they select winners, and if you enter at the right time, it *could* be you!

IW games don't really mean anything since IW sweeps are *usually* set up in advance for the winning time(s) and if you play at that time {or are the 1st to play after that time if nobody played right at the winning time} then you'll win and won't even know it unless they send an email, or the prize!!

My rule of thumb - it isn't a win until I get a confirmation email/phone call/the prize. *Most* do the confirmation email, and if you notice, once you log in, if you won, you get the email before you even play!

I've found that when people go through a dry spell they tend to focus on things that may be preventing them from winning - it's a natural reaction, especially when you used to win so easily!!!

But, all the reasons people think of that may be preventing them from winning (more sweepers/cheaters/etc.) have minimal impact - it's really all about timing - either you have it or you don't.

Oh, yeah - they're all rigged. And they really are a waste of time. You could have more fun watching the grass grow or paint drying. Now, if I could just get EVERYBODY to go along with that, I might be able to win some of the bigger prizes that have eluded me for so long. Later all - gotta get out there and watch the grass.
