Recently watched movies

hm, havent seen that one either and cant find a copy online at my favorite site. I will have to check some others.

Its by the guy who did Ghost in the Shell and they pretty much went to some eastern European country and rented their entire army. It has the cute dog too. That guy loves Basset Hounds. The dog showing up in color signals a key plot twist :) Like eXistenZ with cute puppies....Do you like Cronenberg?

And you've seen Equilibrium-I mean, it has Christian Bale

Of course. I have it on DVD. Im a Christian Bale fanatic. I even have Harsh times on DVD. :)

love ghost in the shell. eXistenZ is cool.. I love willem dafoe.. Cronenberg is underrated.. Scanners :headbang: Dead Ringers

 I watched the movie "Zerophilia" last night. It was a strange movie, to say the least. I liked it, however. It's basically about this cute guy who, when he makes love to a woman, he changes into one. Then, the only way to return to his male form is to make love to a guy, therefore changing him back. So, this guy changes back and forth, from male to female, throughout the movie. There are surprises in the movie, and it is funny as well.

Southland Tales - Very strange movie with the Rock and Sean William Scott and Justin Timberlake and..and...and...
I was amazed at how many b-list actors were in this. How many times do you get to see Dan Fielding from Night Court, Booger from Revenge of the Nerds and Vezzini from the Princess Bride grace the same screen?
Would I watch it again? Yes. Would I own it? No.

I do :booty" I also have the southland tales movie poster signed by Richard Kelly(won from twitch).

Yep lots of B list actors.. its a different movie thats for sure. Its no Donnie Darko but still watchable.

The Children~ F ~ boring, boring, booooorring! omg! :sleepy: Im disappointed. I love British horror movies but this one was just lame. It was almost painful to sit through, or would have been had I been able to keep my eyes open and my mind from wandering. geez this movie is boring.

Plot- little kids go crazy and start killing.. yeah, I know. Its been done.. a bunch. and much better. Cant say anything good about it. Nothing. Dont waste your time with this movie.

Yes Man - I'm not really a fan of Jim Carrey anymore so I was reluctant to watch this one. It was okay though. Nothing new and it's packef with the typical over-the-top Jim Carrey acting throughout but it was good for a few laughs.

Transformers ~ C+ ish

The special effects were very good and my husband (who doesn't require much else) loved it. I guess I am just too picky... I need intelligent dialogue and a coherent plot... it was okay, I guess.

Plus, they changed Bumblebee to a Camaro when he was a Beetle in the cartoon.

yeah  I like to say it has dialogue that only appeals to 12 yr old boys.. Its awful. Whats so funny is that the movie had 3 writers.. 3!.. can you believe it. I hope the next one is better.. From the trailers it looks great but will the dialogue be better? doubtful.

I watched "Lakeview Terrace" last night. Good movie...Samuel Jackson stars as a thoroughly dangerous man who has it in for his new neighbors. The man is also a cop, which makes him even more dangerous.

Slumdog millionaire~ A ~ yep, I watched it again  This was by far the best movie I saw last year. Adding it to my dvd collection.

Wall-E ~ A

Animated flicks aren't really my thing, but sometimes I see one that I really enjoy and this was one of them.

Run, Fatboy, Run ~ A

Another Simon Pegg comedy (same guy from Shaun of the Dead) and directed by David Schwimmer (Ross from "Friends"). Guy leaves his pregnant girlfriend at the altar and realizes later what a horrible mistake he made. Now, to win her back, he has to win her away from her sleazy new boyfriend and gets it in his head that the way to do it is by running a marathon. In typical British-humor fashion, the jokes range from subtle to not-so-much. Kept me laughing nearly all the way through.

I love those. Wall-E is great.. of course my favorite character is M-O.. Run, Fatboy, Run is really good also. I love Dylan Moran in this. much different character than he was in Shaun of the dead. Have you watched Hot fuzz?

I haven't, the previews didn't appeal to me... was it good?

Dylan Moran's character was much more like-able in Fatboy than in Shaun of the Dead. I loved the bit before the race with the K-Y ~ good for preventing nipple chaffing

I was really impressed with David Schwimmer... this was his directorial debut and I think he did a fantastic job.

I went to go see Alien Trespass. Click here for the trailer: alientrespass.com

It was a nice trip back to the 50's for 2 hours since it's set in the year 1957. If you like movies like the original "War of the Words" or "It Came From Outer Space", this film is for you.The effort that went into producing authentic looking 50's set pieces has to be seen to be appreciated. What also was amazing was the use of high saturation color. Everything tends to pop out of the screen at you, almost 3D. The cast includes Eric McCormack, Jenni Baird, Robert Patrick, and Dan Lauria. ~ A -

I like it. but I cant resist Nick Frost  Its not as funny as Shaun of the Dead but does have some hilarious moments. The beginning is a little slow as well but if you stick with it, its worth it. but thats just my opinion and if you have looked through this thread and some of the other movie threads from the past you will see I like odd movies.

I also liked Hot Fuzz. I love Nick Frost and Simon Pegg together though. They are a hilarious duo. They will be making more films together too in the future according to their IMDB schedules. :) I Can't wait.
