Good Googly Moogly - Georgia got cold this morning - 31, toooo cold for this time of year, freezing my buns off. It ain't supposed to be this cold this early here yet, maybe a little 50 or so, but 31, no way.
Who sent this artic blast down here, take it back. I ain't ready for this, the arthritis ain't ready either.....

Well I am home from Hawaii, and have gotten over (sort of) my jet lag/migraine headache/cold/sinus/allergies....
Temperatures have slipped into the 20s in the northwoods this morning with a steady temperature of 32 in town. We are looking foward to a mild afternoon throughout the state with highs reaching the mid 50s in most locales.
Warm air working northward out of the central plains will result in increased clouds this afternoon providing at least a shot at a shower this evening. Most of the energy looks to remain north of Lake Superior and that is where the heaviest of the precip should fall as well. Regardless of that, we will notice a sharp change in many ways later tonight with northwesterly winds howling in excess of 20 mph tomorrow.
Cold air will rush in from Canada too and we will be shivering in the middle 30s for highs both Wednesday and Thursday. We may see a few snow showers included in the mix in lake belts midweek with nothing more than a flurry or two anticipated further south.
The end of the week will feature some sun and slightly warmer temperatures, we should achieve 45 by Sunday with November by then in full swing.

Talk about an outbreak of cold air! Monday's high temperature of 60 degrees was 25 degrees warmer than most of the day on Tuesday. Talk about poor timing on mother nature's part. I felt sorry for the trick-or-treaters who were out in the in the wind and cold. I continue to feel empathy for anyone who has to work out in the cold over the next couple of days. At least we don't have to worry about any messy wintry precipitation. The only things that might fall from the sky are a few flurries later tonight and tomorrow. Even with partly to mostly sunny skies today the high temp will struggle to rise into the middle and upper 30s. A northwest wind of 10 to 20 mph will keep the wind chill in the 20s. It will be about the same on Thursday except a few more clouds will keep high temps in the low to mid 30s. Brrrr. Be sure to wear some warm clothing.
So you can feel the cold wind and you can see Granite Peak making snow (started just last night). It sure seems like winter is here and here to stay. Not so fast! There is hope for a little warm-up in the near future and the weather could stay a bit milder for a while. Don't get too excited. I am only talking about some 40 degree weather for the weekend, not Indian summer again. It will still be cold on Friday with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 30s. On Saturday we will finally have a chance of experiencing 40 degrees and from Sunday through Tuesday the mercury should top out in the mid 40s. The potential exists for some 50 degree weather at some point, but right now I am forecasting mostly cloudy skies during the mild spell and that should hold back the temps. Along with the increasing in cloudcover, there may be a few sprinkles or flurries on Saturday and then a chance of light rain showers on Monday.
