Horror movies anyone?

Has anybody seen The Ruins? I guess it didn't last long in the theaters and doesn't come out on video til next month. I've been wiating to see it.

I tried watching it but it didn't hold my interest. I watched about 45 minutes and moved on to something else.

I couldnt sleep tonight so I watched a couple of movies.

gutterballs~~ The only reason I watched this was to see if it was as bad as I heard. It was and so much more. omg! That is an hour and a half of my life I will never get back. Its supposed to be a horror movie~ a throwback to the old 80's slasher movies but instead its a soft core porno with graphic violence thrown in. If you watched the movie inside and the part with the scissors and the guy on the stairs bothered you there is a scene in this movie that makes that look G rated. The writer of this apparently only knows profanity. seriously. It makes pulp fiction look mild. Grade~ big fat F

The cottage~ horror/comedy~ I really liked this movie. It starts off a little slow but does pick up. The actors are really good, there is a total lack of a real plot but whatever. It has some really funny parts and some really gross parts. If you only like horror you probably wont like this. There isn't enough of it to satisfy everyone. Its a dark comedy and I like those types of movies. Grade~ solid C

now lets see what else I can watch

I loved "The Cottage". Fun movie with great gore. I watched about half of "Gutterballs" and turned it off. You're right, more porn than movie. I've had several of those lately. Don't think I'll bother with "The Ruins" at this point then. Thanks for the heads up.

I was surprised that I really liked the chick. I normally hate big boobed blonde's in movies. She was funny as hell though..

Well I got to watch From Beyond again. The Directors Cut no less! There was a teeny little bit more skin in it this time but I've got to say that it's still on of the best I've seen. We're talkin' mid 80's acting, violent interdimensional beings, s&m, brains being sucked out through the eye sockets and of course...Jeffrey Combs. I swear, he's far from the best actor but he delivers his lines with such conviction.
"It bit his head off...(gasping shiver)....LIKE A GINGERBREAD MAN!!!!"

I think I'm down for another viewing tonight!

OK, I watched this movie last night. Definitely a blast to the past. Wasn't that the guy they played in the movie "Reanimator"?

I watched Otis earlier. I wouldn't call it horror though. Another dark comedy for sure. I liked it. It was entertaining but its not one I would watch again. Grade~ C

just finished pathology. It was.. interesting. Some pretty realistic autopsy scenes. Decent acting. Starts off a little bit slow but the last 45 minutes are really good. The only thing I didn't like is that there isn't a single character that is likable. :nono: Its definitely worth watching though. Grade B

I watched the original Amityville Horror last night. After all these years it still give me the creeps.
scared0016.gif

Watched 2.5 parts of Alive or Dead(50 min.)early yesterday evening. You know a horror movie's bad when the main character says "crap" and "M Effer". I mean, those words exactly. There isn't an emote to reflect my emotions of this movie.

Went to blockbuster today and hit the 4 for 20 and 2 for 20. I got.

Tooth & Nail~ one of the 8 films to die for~~ hmm, was ok. The people in this movie are the dumbest bunch I have ever seen. Grade~C-
The Tripper~ pretty good. If ya like bloody, stupid movies. I do. Grade~ B
Fracture~ Anthony Hopkins plays a man who may or may not have killed his wife. I really liked this movie. Saw it awhile back. Grade~ B
Pulse~ The Japanese version. I hate Hollywood remakes of these great movies. They always butcher them. Grade~ B

Haven't watched these yet.

Southland Tales.~ I have high hopes for this.
Dont open your eyes~ Japanese horror. I love these.

I saw a couple of other Japanese horror movies but didnt want to go crazy ya know.

ETA~ I was a little disappointed in don't open your eyes. It had some funny parts but not enough. It was like the actors were all trying to hard ya know. Some of the lines could have been classic had they been delivered differently. what a shame.

Southland tales~~ This movie is not for everyone. I enjoyed it but most people wont. I'm going to have to watch it again for sure to "get" everything.

OK completelyme, I had already seen Carver. You're in for a gore treat. Gross but fun movie. If you want to see your husband skirm, make him watch the outhouse scene. All I'll say is that pliers and a p**ker are involved.

I can only imagine what the missing letters are  Oh gawd! That makes me ache! When we go to youngest son's out-of-town ball games we have to use the porta-pots. I always look in that black death of a hole for any of those Hills Have Eyes peeps

Ohhhh...you are in for such a treat! You will never look at a port-a-potty the same way again. <-------evil laugh..... :booty"

So I just finished watching The Ruins. Ummm........yeah.

My feelings exactly. If ya get a chance check out Dark floors.. let me know what you thought about it. I thought it was kinda creepy, not really scary but I didnt understand it. When It was over I thought to myself WTH happened? On the site the opinion's on the movie vary as to what it was about.

**possible spoiler**

Actually, it wasn't really all that bad. It was considerably better than The Happening. There were some parts that were a bit oogy (that's a word...i swear). It just lacked likeable characters, an original plot and a villain that wasn't overgrown pot plants.

Watched this movie last night. All I can say is UGH. I don't know if we were suppose to like the main character, but he was as despicable as the others, in fact, he may have been worse. This should have been a movie I would like, but I didn't. Maybe because I'm an R.N., but this movie completely turned me off. Even with the autopsy scenes, I thought the movie was slow. The ending was "so so", nothing original. Most people will probably like this, but I gave it a C-, and that's being generous.

Nobody loves Alice~F~ What a snooze fest. It was so boring. It was supposed to be horror but the only thing horror about it was the acting, the filming, the story...etc. It looked like it was an after school special. Stay away from this movie

Carver~F~ OMG! I sat through 45 minutes before turning it off. What a snooze fest. man it was boring. It also drove me crazy that they are trying to say the "killers" are backwoods country folk right?. they use words that only some country people use. I swear the guy said over yonder, and I reckon 50 times. Just because someone uses those words doesnt make them a stupid country bumpkin killer. It really rubbed me the wrong way. Lets not have decent dialogue or a story or even scenery to describe where they are no..... oh and aside from a scene at the beginning I spent 45 minutes waiting, and waiting and waiting on something to happen. anything. I beg you.

I didnt like it. could ya tell

I think you should just say what you really think about the movie! :booty" I can't believe you gave it a F! I thought it was a fun movie, but I love sicko gore movies like that, so what do I know.

Anyone see Boogeyman2 yet? It sounds stupid, but I read it's a slasher flick, not a boogeyman flick, so I'm gonna give it a try. It got fairly good reviews.

see that's the thing. I didn't see any gore except the beginning scene with the girl... Unless its all in the last 45 minutes of the movie. which I didn't watch. When I hear gore I'm thinking.. Inside, hostel or even the saw franchise. lots of blood, and pretty quick to get to it.

I havent seen boogeyman2.. Its gotta be better than the first one though.
