Horror movies anyone?

Carver~F~ OMG! I sat through 45 minutes before turning it off. What a snooze fest. man it was boring. It also drove me crazy that they are trying to say the "killers" are backwoods country folk right?. they use words that only some country people use. I swear the guy said over yonder, and I reckon 50 times. Just because someone uses those words doesnt make them a stupid country bumpkin killer. It really rubbed me the wrong way. Lets not have decent dialogue or a story or even scenery to describe where they are no..... oh and aside from a scene at the beginning I spent 45 minutes waiting, and waiting and waiting on something to happen. anything. I beg you.

I didnt like it. could ya tell

I think you should just say what you really think about the movie! :booty" I can't believe you gave it a F! I thought it was a fun movie, but I love sicko gore movies like that, so what do I know.

Anyone see Boogeyman2 yet? It sounds stupid, but I read it's a slasher flick, not a boogeyman flick, so I'm gonna give it a try. It got fairly good reviews.

see that's the thing. I didn't see any gore except the beginning scene with the girl... Unless its all in the last 45 minutes of the movie. which I didn't watch. When I hear gore I'm thinking.. Inside, hostel or even the saw franchise. lots of blood, and pretty quick to get to it.

I havent seen boogeyman2.. Its gotta be better than the first one though.

Hmmm...I'm gonna have to look the movie up again then. I could have sworn it was good and gory. Maybe I have it confused with another. I'll check it out and see if it's the same movie I'm thinking about.

Never saw the first boogeyman, but heard it sucked.

Doll Graveyard~ D~ I was hoping for a good laugh when I rented it from redbox. I love bad movies.. Unfortunately, this isnt bad in a good way. Its not stupid enough to be funny. Its not scary. Its just... awful. I want my dollar back.

I couldn't find anything worth watching on cable so I dove into my VHS stash, dusted off the VCR and popped in The Boogens. It was just what I needed. Campy, low budget horror that actually has a scare factor. This is one of the jewels in my collection. It scared the crap out of me as a kid and still gives me the willies to this day. I think I'll pop in another. The Kindred is calling me!!

Carved~ c~ This one is sort of like a ghost story.. A women who is disfigured, wears a mask, and ask am I pretty? she isn't BTW..omg! really freaky looking.. anyway, she kidnaps children.

Another Asian Horror movie. I really, really like these usually. They are different from the Hollywood garbage and I like that. They have unique stories, and the scary stuff is more reserved, not so in your face. This one was good but a little disappointing. The story was incomplete. I hate that!. The acting was pretty bad too. They acted the whole movie like they were just trying to figure out what they wanted to eat for lunch, not that they had something really important to do like, oh, I don't know... save a child!.. They did everything in the same monotone. they didn't get excited about anything, even when being attacked. It was crazy.

There are much better Asian Horror movies out there.

I'm gonna have to agree with you. American horror these days is more 'in your face' shock with things jumping out at you and loud noise. Even when it's a remake of a Japanese or Chinese horror movie it seems like they have to add explosions or gore to it. I prefer my horror subtle. More of a give you the creeps and make your skin crawl type of thing rather than RAAWWWRRR!!!! MONSTER!!!

Black Sheep~ C ~ genetic testing on sheep turns them into... meat eaters. If ya haven't figured it out yet this is a dark comedy... It is not supposed to be taken seriously. It was alright.. Some scenes were so ridiculous I was cracking up while others just kinda fell flat. It was entertaining if you like these kinds of movies. If you dont, dont bother.

I almost forgot I watched another one.

Feast~ D ~ another dark comedy.. monsters terrorize bar patrons. it was.... different. It had some really good gory scenes and the dialogue was really stupid, which is what I expect in a movie like this, but it wasnt really funny. I chuckled a couple of times but that was it. The monsters were kinda cool looking considering the budget and the actors were adequate but it was just blah. :sleepy:

The boondock saints~ B ~ two brothers decide to rid Boston of the bad guys.

This came out in 1999 and I dont think I had ever heard of it. I was very surprised. It was very good. Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus were very good in this. Reedus's Irish accent went in and out at times, Flanery's never did, and that kind of irritated me but for the most part he did alright. Willem Dafoe plays a gay FBI agent in this and is really, really funny. If you like movies like Smokin Aces, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir dogs.. action movies with a little bit of comedy in them you should check this one out.

You'll be happy to know that Feast 2 is about to be released on dvd. It can only get worse, which means it should be just right for ya this time.

Me? The guy who enjoys movies like Gymkata and Cannibal: The Musical and who secretly liked Feast, picking on your taste in movies?! Noooo! :crazytongue: By the way, I subjected myself to Snoop Dogs Hood of Horror recently and found it somewhat entertaining. There's scene a where a guy falls and drives a 40oz bottle from the bottom of his jaw out the top of his skull. Good stuff.

snoop dogs hood of horror huh? I will have to check that out for sure.

my recently watched.

Artifacts~ D ~ A group of friends start dying.. They are found to have these.. "artifacts" in their bodies..

This movie kept me watching and the acting was alright.. Mary Stockley was good and I expect to see more of her.. But, I was confused through out and was hoping that they would wrap it up in the end. They didnt. If they had the movie would have been a B IMO.. It didnt explain anything really and left me with more questions than answers. Its like they got bored with the story and just said who cares about the ending.. well, the ending is kind of important.

The Ferryman~ C ~ group of people on a yacht answer a distress signal and the person they find isnt what they think he is..

I liked this. It had a couple of gory moments, the story was actually pretty good, The acting was ok.. noting the academy would notice of course. It also had a couple of funny scenes as well. what more can you ask for in a horror movie. They didnt show the ferryman as much as they should have because he was really creepy looking and there is a scene with a dog I could have done without but all in all its a good movie to watch on a rainy sunday when you just want to veg out.

Day of the dead 2008 ~B ~ Colorado town is over run with zombies..

Its not really your typical zombie movie.. It has all the gore of one, this is really, really gory. Lots of head shots and be headings. But the zombies arent your typical zombie, they run, climb and shoot guns.

If you just want to watch a lot of people getting eaten and blood everywhere this movie is for you. If you are expecting a more traditional zombie movie this may aggravate you.

Snoop Dawg's hood of horror LMAO!! I never knew said movie existed!

We just finished watching The Reaping with Hilary Swank. More of a suspense thriller if you ask me. Not too bad but not really good either. I was looking forward to blood and guts and hubby chose this. I was disappointed needless to say.

Looks like the Horrorfest movies are a yearly staple now. Each year I try to catch them all as Fearnet airs them. I've slacked off this year though. Last night I watched one called Unearthed. A small town in the middle of nowhere(of course) gets shut off from rescue when the only road into town is closed by a tanker truck wreck. That's when the killings start. Seems a creature that was subdued by Indians long ago has been..(cough)..unearthed by a local loony and is slaughtering everything it can. It's up to the really cute female sheriff/town drunk, a few locals and Charlie Murphy to stop the creature in order to survive. Nothing too original here. The creature is cool looking and fairly vicious but nothing that I'd care to see in a sequel. It was a decent watch all in all but not worthy of what I would hope a Horrorfest would be.

I tried to watch 'Death Tunnel' the other night ~ that was the most terrible piece of fluff I have ever seen. It was shot here in Kentucky at Waverly Hills ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waverly_Hills_Sanatorium
one of the most haunted places in the world and this was the best they could come up with?

The producers did end up doing a "Making of Death Tunnel" that was a LOT better talking about all the freaky stuff that went on during the shoot...

On a sad note ~ the owners of Waverly Hills are in the process of trying to revamp the old hospital into a 4 star hotel & spa...that should be interesting...ghosts and massages in one room!
