Yep you're right but I will still vote because it's a privilege. Congress 9% approval rating lol.

I want my vote to count also and I would vote for Stephen Cobert.

I will vote! I view it as my responsibility. Besides, how can I complain about the politicians if I don't vote.

had a big long thing typed out about why I like obama and hit backspace to correct spelling and lost the whole thing :cussing: will try again later.. gotta get my instants done.

 I started puting the laughing first so my post won't disappear.

I have always said that I think that McCain's service to the country was above and beyond! I have to respect the man for that! Is that a reason to vote for him ~ no. Is that a reason to like him even more if I was ~ yes!

I look at Obama's statement about Palin's daughter the other day and I thought about it and how wonderful it was...the more I thought about it the more 'politically correct' it seems and maybe 'self serving' ~ he has two daughters getting older himself...who knows what will happen to them?

To me all of them seem fake ~ every single one of them...'Grumpy Old Men ~ Part 3' ~ lol!!

Why I am voting for Obama, and why I think he is the best person for the job.

first, I agree with his views.
I agree with his views on Health care.. everyone should have it. People should not have to choose between medicine or eating.

Education.. He wants to reform the no child left behind act which is a complete and total failure. He wants the dumbing down of our children stopped.

He wants our soldiers out of Iraq.. soon, not in some time way down the road.

women's rights.. He is pro choice.. not pro abortion..

He is for fathers stepping up and taking responsibility for the children they help bring into this world.

He will not tax the middle class but go after the wealthiest Americans.

He doesnt have a lot of experience but has intelligence. Thats more than can be said for the current president. He will do whats best for the people of this country not just the special interest groups that want to line his pocket.

This country needs a change. We can not have another 4 years like the last eight.

One thing I have noticed since Sarah Palin entered the race is that now Obama is attacking Palin instead of McCain and the more this happens from him and his campaign the more he hurts himself. It's almost like he's runing against her and not his apponent.

I haven't seen him attacking her other than her total lack of qualifications for the job. And believe me McCain and republican party have done there fair share of attacking.

Honestly, I'd rather not pull this thread. I would like to know why people like a candidate. Even what you don't like about a candidate would be okay.

That's all I was asking for those of you that thought I was attacking cin. Sure I may have laughed at some of her statements because to me they are so far out in left field, but that is not attacking. Personal feelings about her or any other member never played any part in what I said and what I asked. She wasn't saying why she felt the way that she did. I wanted to know why she said what she said and why she felt the way she did. It's called having a discussion. Nothing more and nothing less. Really mods, lighten up and don't assume I was attacking her. I can try and use a different way of asking her, but at this point I think it's clear she isn't going to reply to me and never had any intentions on doing so.

But she did reply to others about why she feels so strongly about Palin and that's good enough for me. While I may not agree with her I respect her explanation. That's all I was asking for in the first place. It wasn't like I was trying to bully out of her who she was voting for. She had already said. I just wanted to know why Palin was so special in her eyes and in anyone else's who cared to reply.

Geeze-really glad I got that second job

I agree there is a lot of attacking going on but just yesterday a comment was mentioned about lipstick and pigs. The problem is this race is not between him and her but between the men. Also this will continue until November I am sure. They are not discussing their policies but this is pretty much something we know by going to their web sites what they say they want to do.

The attacks will continue and probably get worse sad to say.

But see there are 2 sides to this story and even on the main streem networks there are different opinions on what he meant. It's going to get rough

It is going to get rough. And I think the comment is a total non issue. Its soooo bad when Obama says it but alright for McCain too? And Palin compared herself to a pit bull saying the only difference was lipstick. please. She cant cry foul now.

Actually I don't think it's ok for any attacks but they are going to happen see this is my point really that there are 2 different sides as to how things are meant and naturally each side will defend their side. We can expect to see a lot of this. I guess hocky moms shouldn't compare themselves to pitt bulls lol.

I wish they would take all the ads off of tv ~ I am sick of them already!

Im waiting on the debates. I waiting on the interview with palin.. both should be interesting. The one thing I think the democrats have going for them this election is that so many people are so fed up with the current administration that democrats are going to be going to the polls in huge numbers. So many people who weren't voters before will vote this election. so see, the bush administration did do something good.

Im tired of the ads also

You know I actually have not seen too many commercials here in Houston. I am also looking forward to the debates. It will be so exciting to see a woman ruining for VP doing her thing. As a woman I must say I am so proud.

I hate "both parties" but I Like guvnah Palin and will vote for that team. I refuse to vote for anyone that is as anti pro life as the one side is. Before she came on the ticket I was planning on holding my nose and voting but I am more enthusiastic now. I did like Bob Barr ALOT only he doesnt have a chance so I vote my values first and then other things.

 holding your nose and voting sounds about right. I understand that for sure. McCain wasn't my first choice but now he has grown on me.

I'm just politely quoting what you both have said because I feel the same way. It's picking the lesser of 2 evils and hoping which ever candidate(s) you choose do exactly what they say they're going to do. As Wolfie said, it's no longer a gov't. of the people for the people and we will never get the answers we're looking for.

The ads are at this point annoying beyond belief. I've read so many discrepancies about both candidates and Palin that I want to bash my own brain in with a sledge hammer. The only factor I am using to decide in regards to voting is personal views and stances of each party. And I agree. There are going to be people voting who haven't voted before or in a long time. They're fed up with dare I say Bush and the economy and health care and on and on.
